# Welcome to Casa Anibal

### Your Home Away From Home in Porto

On my first visit to Porto, I immediately fell in love with the city—its beauty, its warmth, and its irresistible mixture of old and new.

There is something very special about walking through Porto's narrow cobblestone streets, admiring the architecture, stopping at a small café, and eventually finding your way down to the Douro River. The city invites you to slow down and enjoy the senses—the colors, the smells, the food, the wine, and, above all, the warmth of the local people.

And, of course, there is Port wine. Visiting one of the centuries-old wine cellars across the river is part of the Porto experience—and may leave you happily a little dizzy.

Porto has a wonderful balance of energy and calm. Each time I visit, when it is finally time to pack my bags, I find myself wishing I could stay just a little longer.

## Before Your Arrival

About one week before your arrival, please contact **Victor or Thaina**, who help manage Casa Anibal, to coordinate your arrival and receiving the keys.

They are a lovely Brazilian couple who speak Portuguese, Spanish, and English. They live nearby and will be your local contacts should you have any questions or if something in the apartment requires attention.

## Check-In & Check-Out

**Check-in:** 15:00–19:00
**Check-out:** Before 11:00

Victor or Thaina will arrange to meet you between 15:00 and 19:00 on your arrival day, give you the keys, help you settle in, and answer any questions.

When checking out, simply leave the apartment keys on the **kitchen counter**.

## Porto City Tax

The City of Porto collects a local tourist tax of **€2 per person, per day**.

We kindly ask that this be paid in cash directly to Victor or Thaina.

## Getting to Casa Anibal

The easiest way to reach the apartment from the airport is by **Uber or taxi**.

I personally find Uber easy to use and generally less expensive. Taxis are readily available at the airport, although finding one by simply waving on the street can sometimes be more difficult.

I recommend downloading the Uber app before arriving.

Victor may also be available to pick you up from the airport for a fee, so please feel free to ask him directly.

Once you are settled at Casa Anibal, my favorite way to experience Porto is simply **to walk**. The city is wonderful to explore on foot.

There are also buses, trams, taxis, and Uber available throughout the city.

# About Casa Anibal

Casa Anibal is spacious, comfortable, and designed to feel like a real home rather than simply a place to sleep.

### The apartment includes:

* **Three bedrooms, all open and available for your use**
* **Two full bathrooms with showers**
* Central air conditioning
* Fully equipped kitchen
* Washing machine
* Wi-Fi
* 42" flat-screen television
* Towels and linens
* Basic shampoo, conditioner, and soap

The kitchen includes pots, pans, utensils, an espresso machine, and basic cooking supplies, so you are welcome to prepare meals and enjoy the apartment as your own home during your stay.

### Air Conditioning

A central air-conditioning system serves the apartment and is operated by remote control.

Please remember to turn the air conditioning off whenever you leave the apartment for the day.

### Washing Machine

The washing machine is located in the closet near the entrance.

It is an ecological machine, so washing cycles can take a little longer than you may be accustomed to.

A drying rack is also available in the same closet.

# A Few Simple House Requests

Casa Anibal is our home in Porto, and we kindly ask that you care for it as you would your own.

Please:

* Turn off lights, air conditioning, and the television when leaving the apartment.
* Never leave candles or any open flame unattended.
* Please do not smoke anywhere inside the apartment or building.
* Close the building's main entrance door securely whenever entering or leaving.
* Please do not leave unwashed dishes in the kitchen sink.
* Take the trash to the bins across the street before checking out.
* Recycle glass, plastic, and paper in the appropriate recycling bins across the street.
* Before leaving, please take a final look around to make sure you have not forgotten any personal belongings. Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for items left behind.

# Exploring the Neighborhood

Casa Anibal is centrally located in a comfortable and convenient part of Porto.

You can easily walk to the shopping district, galleries, restaurants, cafés, and many of the city's attractions. The Douro River and historic center are also within walking distance.

One of the things I love most about the apartment is that after a day exploring Porto, you can return and truly feel that you are **coming home**.
