Amazing stay for family. Reserved the king suite. Which has two separate spaces and a small kitchen. Very large bathroom and comfortable bedding. Wonderful breakfast. Great walking distance to restaurants and attractions. Or very fair Uber ride. A little piece of history in a charming location.

Great value for the money. Central location. Facilities in excellent condition. Interior without fancy design or details, but functional, clean and well maintained. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of power outlets next to the bed so I could use my cell phone or computer in bed while charging.

Excellent hotel for families
Very clean and spacious room. Microwave and fridge are very useful. Beds are comfortable, good WIFI. Good location, supermarkets within 10min walk. We are happy with our stay. Thanks to the staff for all their help.

The qualityof the service and facilities is great.
The staff at EkoResidencial are friendly and helpful. The overall condition of the hotel is very good. The rooftop gym and urban garden could benefit from some upkeep but I still appreciated having these amenities and the ecological consciousness of the business. The only downside of staying at EkoResidence is the location in a less safe downtown area, which according to locals is subject to more crime lately.

This hotel is honest in its purpose. Comfortable and simple. If you want a very well localized hotel, close to downtown, whit high level service and good food around and a fair rate this is the right place.

EKO friendly hotel
The hotel is truly EKO friendly to the environment, EKO friendly to the guests and EKO friendly to the wallet. It is located in the historic zone walking distance to many attractions like catherals, museums, government buildings and the public market.

My room seemed like it was next to the air-conditioning plant for the whole building: therefore I could either leave my window open to get some nice night air but be kept awake by the sounds of motors; or freeze in dried-out air-conditioned air. Very helpful and friendly staff
Best thing about this hotel - the staff. They are very helpful and speak fluent English - not always the case in Porto Alegre. Other good points: Room big and clean. Good breakfast - although the breakfast room is small, we always found a table.Microwave and Fridge in kitchen. Central location with good transportation nearby. Nice solarium on the top floor. Problems: Room on third floor was very noisy, but after complaining we were transferred to a quiet room on a higher floor. WiFi signal not very strong in the higher floor. The kitchen, although very large, is not usable due to the lack of cooking utensils (no kettle either). After dark, the neighborhood seems a little shabby (although it seemed to be safe).

Concerning the Eko Hotel.  It is clean, well managed, a helpful staff, and the breakfast is superb.  The 10th floor solarium has a very comfortable indoor sitting area where I spent most of Tuesday after checking out of the hotel and going to the bus station in the evening.  The outdoor area is very good and has a view of the older part of the city.  The gym with weights, track, and small pool is good and I observed several users working off their breakfasts.   The hotel is situated within a safe, somewhat strenuous walking distance to shopping, historical structures, and several parks.    My only complaint about the room was no mattress pad, I used a duvet under my bottom sheet.   In the hotel lobby is a travel agency and Felippe who had lived in Sydney for several years was helpful.

Excellent value for the price
Stayed three nights, on two different trips through Porto Alegre. Rooms are quite large, with ample desk space, reasonable internet speed, a microwave, fridge and dishes/utensils -- good for those tired of eating in restaurants (which I was). There's a big supermarket nearby. Breakfast buffet is decent -- about standard for Brazilian hotels (which, however, generally cost 2x or 3x more, at least in bigger centres). Gym on the roof is clean and all the equipment works, which is more than can be said for many other, more expensive hotels. Also a good view over the city. The only drawback I experienced was in the one night I stayed in a room facing the street: too much noise from traffic (probably cobblestones). Better to go for an inside-facing room with no view. Room service food was so-so.

Ideal for visiting UFRGS
We were here for a visit to the city campus of UFRGS, and the location was the main selling point, it's only 3 minutes walk from the campus. The hotel itself ticks basically all of the right boxes - reliable free wifi, very nice breakfast, laundromat and bakery nearby, and digital cable TV. The price is very reasonable for what you get. It's a good 3-star hotel which could maybe benefit from a little bit of painting and carpet cleaning in the rooms, and also some noise insulation.

Eko is really green
For travelers who are on the green movement, this hotel is the right choice. Even though amenities such as extensive menus for room service is not available, there is a good number of dishes available until 4am. The room is average, the TV smaller than most hotels, but it is LED. All lighting is LED or alternative, the hotel bakes their own bread for the delicious breakfast and cultivate many of the greens that are served, true organic. There are separate recycle bins even in the rooms, for organic and metals and plastic. A very interesting place. I met with the manager who made sure I got all the attention I needed. Nice front desk people. It is a clean 2 1/2 star with very nice and friendly service.

Com garagem e perto do complexo hospital da Santa Casa, é excelente para quem está com familiar internado ali, Rua tranquila e com várias opções de restaurantes, botecos, lavanderia, e muito próximo do centro.
