A 3rd floor walk up no frills apartment in a super convenient location, but think San Francisco in the 70's with transients on the streets at most times, but with a strong, caring police presence it is VERY SAFE. Classic Portland neighborhood and the building was charming and clean. We had no problem finding parking on the street. Best to say is that rental car made it out with all windows and tires. It was clean and comfortable and within easy walking distance to shopping and dining. My family is not uncomfortable that there were un housed people in the area. We felt safe the entire time. If you have not spent time in an area where there is a homeless population I could see why you would be a little uncomfortable. Considering No Frills was in the title, we were pleasantly surprised. This property was easy to check out of and we left in a rush. The hosts are mailing back a souvenir that was left behind and my apologies to them if we left anything else behind in our rush. There was no laundry list of chores to do before we left which is always a plus. We would stay here again. The staircase is narrow and steep and parking was a little challenging but the hosts are very helpful regarding parking. If possible, unload first and then find a parking spot. ##### Heather M.
