Hidden fees for what they called pet friendly, turned out when we got there they forced us to pay $10/day stay for.my.dog who stayed in a kennel. At 11am on the departure day management had the cleaning lady come an tell me it was time to go. Needless to say, I will never stay here again.

Nice motel in Port Lavaca
My favorite place to stay in Port Lavaca. Its a simple business without a lot of amenities, but it costs less per night and they have rooms for pets and smokers if desired.

Breakfast is included in the nightly rate, however the milk was spoiled, which is why I left a 1 star rating for staff and service. The housekeeping was really friendly and helpful, though after cleaning the room there was a smell of wet mop that lingered for hours. The motel is overall well lit and clean, though not particularly nice (holes in the blackout material of the curtains, burnt out light bulb in room, peeling paint on the doors).

Crappiest coastal stay so far
Rooms are nothing like advertised. Towels sheets and showers were dirty. Electrical sockets hanging out of the wall and takes a whole century for the water to turn hot in the shower and sink. The complimentary breakfast is and insult no compliment basically its a selection of cheap junk food. This hotel was the worst part of my family trip and the next time i visit Port Lavaca i most definitely will not stay at the chaparral!

Good for the price
The room was clean and they were very accommodating. The only problem was the smell of the room but it wasn’t anything that Fabreeze couldn’t fix. Their continental breakfast wasn’t good. The coffee machine was out of order and the juices were out as well. The little restaurant next door had great food and coffee so that problem was solved quickly.

Had to clean off multiple counters as they had multiple liquids on them or a lot of dust. Top comforter had a good amount of stains on them and the bathroom didn’t have a lot to ventilation. Comp breakfast was decent even though cereal was stale

The room had a strong chemical smell to it and with my sinuses, could not take it. My boyfriend went and got another room at a different motel. Waisted $67 because their is no refund.

Because they authorize my payment, it was deducted from my bank account. When i arrived, the needed to process the payment but allready deducted my funds and my card declined.

No remote etc
The TV was not hooked up and could not find the remote. There were gym shorts, underware and a hotel towel in one of the dresser drawers which i found looking for the remote. The price was right as i only spend sleeping hours in the room.

The first room had a strong smell of mold, the fridge was disgusting and the table had some type of fluid, most open most importantly, the air conditioning did not work well! The second room was a smidge cleaner, only reason I did not leave was there no refund.

Room does not have amenities listed on their site. Wall plug hanging out of the wall. Floor was dirty. Non smoking room with burn holes in covers. Bathtub had black hair still in it. Sheets were stained. Room had a musty smell. Not a good deal for the price we paid. Very run down and if the room would have been refundable, we would have cancelled as soon aa we saw the location. More worker oriented and not family oriented. The lady at the front desk that had to give me the hairdryer was nice.

Do not stay here!!!!!
There were roaches and filth everywhere. We ended up leaving and getting another hotel even though we paid for 2 nights. Looked to be dried blood on the wall by the door and the door appeared to have been kicked in. They have a no refund policy so we basically lost money because we choose to stay elsewhere. There was a layer of filth on everything and the overwhelming smell of mold. We stayed 20 minutes in our 2 night stay.

I guess the hotel needs to be updated badly! It reminded me of motels on like drug shows. If it were to have some upgrades it would be much more comfortable.

Room had black long hairs all over bed and floor. Desk attendant couldn’t find my reseveration and told me I didnt Have one. There were ppl yelling and screaming at midnight in the pool. Which should have been closed. Def not somewhere I’d return to

The cost of the place is not worth what the room is. Moldy smell. Cleanliness was not the greatest. There was white powder in the drawers most likely from bed bugs. Found a piece of shrimp in the corner of the room. Moldy smell. For about 30 extra a night there is a better hotel with friendlier staff down the street

Utterly Disgusting
I honestly didn't realize that hotels.com contracted with these types of slum places. This venue was at the same level of disgusting as one of those $39 per night truckstop motels off the freeway in Houston. It was so dirty and dilapidated and gross that my kids were terribly upset and did not want to stay there. They refused to refund my money (which was the same rate of a regular hotel), so we ended up sleeping on the couch at a friend's place because we did not want to endure staying here. There was caked on dirt on the chairs, the lamps were coated in dust and grime and also falling apart. The refrigerator was rusty and musty on the inside. The drawers and cabinets had a terrible stench, and we didn't feel comfortable removing our shoes. My son asked how many people I thought did drugs in that room, and the whole place smacked of the place they found the daughter in the movie "Traffic". It was an absolute nightmare.

There were not enough towels for 4 people, the staff was not concerned with the drugs being done in the rooms around us. The refrigerator leaked water all over the floor and i had to clean the room myself because there was hair all over the toilet and shower when we arrived

Booked on line and when we went to check in there was a problem with getting the door to open. When they got it open it would not stay closed. The room was filthy and we ultimately refused to stay and they refunded our payment without any difficulty.

I was very pleased with my 2 night stay at the Chaparral Motel in Port Lavaca, TX. The room was cleaned every day, and both the Proprietor and the Lady Staff were very nice.

We first pull up to the window to the room the curtains are filthy dirty from the outside a walk in the room there is dust everywhere on top of the phone on top of the refrigerator on top of the microwave no coffee pot the bathroom toilet moved every time you sat down the tub was filthy they have no toiletries except for something they called soap but was not soap got to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night the floor in front of the refridgerator was sooking wet I almost slipped on the floor the bedspread was filthy I took it off and tossed it in the floor and used my own blanket I'm praying the sheets were clean it was a very dirty hotel room for the price we had to pay don't stay
