The large apartment is located on the top floor of a Victorian commercial building (so don’t expect an elevator) but it does reward you with a great outdoor terrace facing the rear of the building with views of the historical United Church and Ganaraska River. The Hosts were forthcoming about a major construction project on the town’s main thoroughfare through Port Hope facing the building. For our purposes, it did not affect our reasons for staying but if you like perusing the shops, they’re OPEN, eager to welcome visitors during what is a disruptive change in the downtown core. Saying all that, parking is easy and convenient and there’s plenty of dining options. ##### Peter D.
