A 3 minute walk to Four Mile Beach, Pineapple Pete's will be perfect for a family or friends' get together or even a special celebration with low numbers of guests. It is a very spacious house allowing everyone their personal space. Young children are welcome to stay, don't hesitate to ask us to use all the baby and children gear that we have available ( two cots, bassinet, 2 high chairs, Bumbo seat, pram, toddler stroller, etc) The house has a total of 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and one outdoor bathroom, open plan kitchen and bar area, dining area, lounge area, back and front decks, laundry, heated pool and garden, all on a 1000sm2 block. The building is a prime example of open plan tropical living - the lounge area, dining and over sized kitchen flow onto one another seamlessly, surrounded by custom hand made Queensland Silver Ash doors and windows, providing a frame to the lush tropical native gardens around the property. The orientation of the house, its numerous openings and the use of smart glass allow for constant cross ventilation and high energy efficiency, making it surprisingly cool even in the Summer months throughout the Wet Season. All the bedrooms are air conditioned, have ceiling fans and soft weave blackout curtains. The pool is heated in Winter by Solar energy. All bed linen is high quality cotton and bamboo blend, organic cotton and flax linen. Beach towels are provided. Pineapple Pete's Beach House prides itself in using and providing organic and environmentally friendly products, from all cleaning products used to guests amenities. THE MASTER BEDROOM The Master Bedroom overlooks the pool and the mass of native trees that grow along and around the property, especially along the creek that runs alongside it. It is an airy and spacious bedroom, with a king size bed and it opens onto the garden through French doors on one side and bi-fold doors onto its own deck on the other . This bedroom has its own en suite bathroom, with free standing stone bath and double shower , a generous walk-in robe, with plenty of drawers, bench space and long and short hanging. It has a 40 inch TV, desk, it is air conditioned and has a ceiling fan. It is an extravagantly big bedroom and the most luxurious of the four bedrooms. THE SECOND MASTER We call it the second Master because even though it does not have the Master's outlook, walk-in robe or the luxury of the Master's bathroom it is a beautiful, calming and very special room - it has two large wardrobes and en suite bathroom and a quirky and quaint outdoor bathroom with shower, hand basin and claw bath, all in an extremely private and sunny courtyard, with lush plants that make it one of the most dreamy and special features of Pineapple Pete's. This bedroom has a ceiling fan, it is air conditioned, has a 32 inch TV and it opens onto the front deck and the stoney garden. THE SECOND KING The second king bedroom has a king size bed that can be made up as two singles and this bedroom too opens onto the pool and back deck. It has 2 wardrobes, a ceiling fan, air conditioner, 32 inch TV and it is serviced by the bathroom across the breezeway. THE SMALL BEDROOM The small bedroom is perfect for two children or two teenagers. It has two long single beds but they can be set up as a King size bed, so that it can also accommodate a couple if required. It has a wardrobe, ceiling fan, air conditioner and elegant casement windows that open onto a little hideaway garden that was our veggie garden once upon a time. THE KITCHEN The kitchen has been designed for people who love cooking and love having plenty of space to move around as they do it. It has a generous caesar stone island bench, stainless steel bench tops, a 5 burner gas stove with teppanyaki plate , an extra wide oven, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, coffee machine (Sunbeam Cafe Series), family size fridge and freezer and all the little gadgets that one may need, from scales to stick blender, cup blender, etc, as well as numerous utensils, from muffin trays to garlic crushers, that we will provide so that nothing will hold you back from getting creative. THE LOUNGE AND DINING The Lounge and Dining speak with the strongest accent at Pineapple Pete's - a very global one. This area showcases a myriad of artworks from friends, artists from all around, little gems discovered on Saturday morning's Garage Sale hunting, antique shops and whatever else makes us smile, from family photos to cooking books, old carvings from Papua New Guinea and boat's half models, evoking the family's past history of boat building and sailing. The lounge area features 3 three seater leather lounges, TV and DVD player and quite a few of our favourite series and children's DVDs that you'll be very welcome to enjoy while staying at the house. The dining , right next to the lounge area, features a dining table and seating for 8/10 people. It opens onto the lawn along the creek through casement windows, screened by an immaculate canvas of Malaleucas , coconut trees and other native species. THE LAUNDRY The house has a laundry located on the breezeway which features a 9.5 kg top loader washing machine, dryer and sink. There is a washing line at the end of the breezeway, to the left, which guests can use to dry their washing in the sun if they wish to do so. THE OUTDOORS . The BACK DECK is very much an extension of the lounge area inside and it is the one that we use whenever we feel like eating outside - it is right next to the BBQ, it sits 10 people quite easily and the dining table is perfectly located right in front of the kitchen's servery. The adjacent outdoor lounges are extremely comfortable and inviting and one of our favourite places to sit back with friends and family. The FRONT DECK is the one that engages the most with the neighbourhood. It gets sun from early morning until sunset and it has a truly low key, beachy feel about it. It is lovely to sit on at different times of the day, especially late afternoon, as the sunlight gets filtered through the imponent paperbarks. On the POOL DECK you'll find enough sun lounges and chairs to welcome everyone in the sun. The pool has a solar heating system which will keep it at an inviting temperature all year around. Property is immaculately clean and tidy, with every possible need met. Photos are not able to capture the immediate sense of ease and relaxation we all enjoyed during our stay. From the comfortable furniture right through to the well stocked non-perishables in the pantry and even birthday candles for our special occasions. Coffee machine was proved popular first up in the mornings. Good quality appliances. A well thought-out flow for the house. Artwork was eclectic and interesting. Hosts have this in the bag and definitely deserve the highest rating possible. Plenty of privacy for 2 adult couples and a 17 year old, yet great spaces to gather and mingle too. Everything about this house just works. Great space, great features ie pool, location is spot on 5 min walk to beach, 5 min drive to town. The house opens up beautifully even the way you can watch the kids play in the pool while you prepare food or do the dishes through the kitchen. The master suite is just unbelievable and all you want staying up in the stunning north qld area. ##### lisa c. Everything is provided for, and the rooms have a modern design with tasteful furnishings and eclectic artwork. The layout allowed everyone to have some privacy in our own areas, but we could come together in the main living space that flowed to the beautiful pool. Sofia and Pete were lovely hosts, giving us a warm welcome and ensuring we had everything we needed for our stay. ##### Stephen F. Magnificant house and location My husband and I stayed recently for a short break and we really enjoyed this beautiful property. The location is fantastic, a five minute walk to the beach and a short 5 minute drive into Port Douglas. The house itself is stunning, very clean, well equipped with really good quality appliances and linens and well stocked with any incidentals you would need in a normal home. The pool was fabulous, very clean and the property felt really private and luxurious. The hosts were absolutely lovely, meeting us at the house to welcome us and then a phone call away if needed. The house is laid out perfectly for a family with children or multiple couples traveling together. The kids loved the pool and the privacy of the house was excellent. It was a very short stroll to four mile beach which made it great for the early morning run/walk or early evening stroll as the sun went down. The artwork in the house is also done tastefully well and really reflects the owners "wanderlust" spirit. Sofia and peter were great hosts Asmus they welcomed us upon arrival and then created the space for us to enjoy our time. One of the best, if not the best, homes we have stayed at since traveling throughout Australia over the last 3+ years. I wouldn't highly recommend the place to those looking for a relaxing, peaceful, and enjoyable holiday with family and friends. Perhaps the only improvement suggestion would be to look at the washer/dryer (particularly the latter) as the cycles were a bit slow and drying clothes took quite a bit of time. However, we leverage the sun to air dry various items during the day. Overall a great time! ##### Andy P. We had 6 adults and a 1 year old and the house was the perfect size. The decor is stunning, the pool is heated to the perfect temperature and the house had everything we needed including a really well stocked kitchen with all the utensils we needed. We were able to borrow everything we needed for our toddler including a cot, linen, high chair, stroller, lots of toys and books, making travelling so easy. And the house was really child friendly so we could all relax and enjoy our stay. Thank you so much to Sofia and Pete, we can't wait to return! ##### Rebecca M. A wonderful tranquil, exciting and welcoming place to be. The house is a treasure trove of discovery. It is a house to entertain spend time with friends, laugh and celebrate any occasion. However it is all this and more. It is also a house to seek seclusion and enjoy solitude ones own company. The house has all one could ask for space, a well appointed kitchen. The bathrooms are sanctuaries as are the bed rooms. The pool is a focal point. You can easily make the house the destination Port Douglas is a bonus. Your hosts Sofia and Peter are delightful from the wonderful warm welcome you receive you can only take away happy memories of your stay. A truly wonderful place. ##### PETER O. We have just had 9 wonderful nights in this beautifully appointed home. Two families of 4 and 5 with children from 2 to 7 years. The attention to detail provided by Sofia and Pete is incredible and has made for the most relaxing and easy holiday we have ever had. From the beautiful amenities, toys, books, pool toys to generous lend of paddle boards. Their taste is impeccable and the house is full of gorgeous art and artifacts, perfectly placed out of the reach of little hands. We enjoyed some wonderful family time playing Finska and spending time in the pool together. The location is great with a park at the end of the street and beach access for a comfortable 30min walk along the amazing 4 mile beach into town. I could go on and on. Sad to leave. Sure to return. We were met by Sofia and Pete on arrival and couldn't believe how beautiful the house was. It is so much better than the photos. My wife loved the quality of towels, beach towels and sheets etc. No expense has been spared with coffee machine, sound system, TVs, furnishings and pool. We spend many hours by the pool when we weren't at the beach. We have done a fair bit of travelling and this is by far the best place we have stayed at. Lovely people to deal with. Wow Wow Wow...what a place to stay. Absolutely perfect from every perspective. Where to start...The house is incredibly spacious with lots of area's to relax and live a summery tropical life. It is decorated super personal and individually distinct with amazing artworks, books, pictures on the walls etc. The whole house is set up to please and be indulgent. From hand soap/shampoo/conditioner provision in each room to beautiful bedding with lush pillows, towels, throws. The kitchen is super well equipped with all sorts for cooking, baking, frying, BBQ, lots of bowls etc and a fabulous coffee machine (get some beans ground in town and take it home to make your own perfect coffee). The fridge had sparkling mineral water and a block of Lindt chocolate as a welcome. Standard staples, coffee and a range of teas are in the pantry. Each room has airco and fan and big open doors to one of the outdoor area's. The pictures don't show at all how spacious the whole set up is. We were there with 5 adults and 4 small kids (1,2,3 and 5 year old). We had two cots provided with bedding, clambu, a lot of toys, a whole bookshelf full of books for ages 0-10? And of course lots of pool toys. We all spend a lot of time in and around the house. The pool was heated and warm at all times so we were in the pool at least 4 hours each day. As the kids slept in turns we were house bound a lot but not one moment any one was bored. The kids had a lot of area's to explore as there are different little decks, garden parts, courtyards etc. There were times we didn't know where the kids were. Each night was different due to the many options for bathing and showering. A treat. Outdoor bath and shower with fairy lights in the trees. Or a huge double shower where easily all the kids and two adults fitted or...just a star light pool session. It feels like the whole house and content is totally new and extremely well taken care of. The house is about 300 meter max from the first entrance to the beach and perhaps an extra 100m to the playground with an other entry to the beach. We rented bikes with bike trollies where in each trolly two kids could sit. The cycle was over the beach about 20-25min to town. Also the wildlife park is only 2km away and you can go twice in 5 days for the same price. Kids loved it. If you want to do lap swimming, there is a 20m ish lap pool across the road, 10min walk. Taxi to town is about 13 dollars each way so if you don't rent a car, for occasional it is affordable. ##### Betul M.
