"We loved our stay at Marala. The view was amazing, food was great, and we saw capuchin monkeys more than once. My son was in love with the dessert crepes and I got the mango avocado ceviche almost every night of our stay because it was so, so good. Breakfast was also great. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough space anywhere to hang towels and swimsuits to dry! Also, the area is kind of lacking in activities and entertainment other than visiting the beach. We didn't find any local food that was particularly great either (the hotel restaurant's food *is* great but a bit on the pricy side). That said, you won't be sad about a stay here! Just plan to spend most of your time on the property. The view from the pool cannot be beat, especially with a tasty drink in hand from the swim-up bar! Marala was definitely a highlight of our trip!"

"The property is a paradise in the jungle! So much wildlife right in the backyard. We saw monkeys swing through, a sloth at the end of the driveway and so many beautiful birds! The pool was amazing to jump in after a day of hiking and excursions. The house inside is beautiful and HUGE!!! Each room has a bathroom and massive walk in closet. Kitchen is well laid out and very well stocked with all types of extra appliances. I can say enough about the property and the especially the customer service from managers who went above and beyond to stay in touch and make sure all went well. The private chef they recommended was outstanding!!! Food was so tasty and they were very professional and left the kitchen spotless! Highly recommend the property!!"

"We spent 10 days at this great house. My family included my 82 year old mother who wanted to stay forever! Emily was a great host. Very responsive when we had questions. We were delayed on our arrival due to traffic but there was no problem with Liliam (the house caretaker) meeting us late. Liliam was super friendly and even made us fresh juice and brought over coffee. The house was perfect for our family. The beautiful beach was close and the little town nearby was charming. The location was perfect to go north to Jaco or south to Manuel Antonio National Park. Lots of other stuff to do nearby as well! Emily also recommended masseuses that came to the house! We greatly enjoyed our trip and the house was a big part of our enjoyment."

"House was clean and comfortable, pool was very nice. We went during the dry season so I assume grounds were not as lush as in pictures. We arrived later in the day then originally planned (after 7pm) and because all of the AC was off it was over 90F inside the house and took some time to get it comfortable. The house had plenty of space for our family of 5 and is in a good location between Jaco (close to) and Quepos. There are a handful of shops just down the main road to Quepos with a Danish Bakery (Valhalla) that was excellent!"
