Alta House Begur

"First the front desk people were incredibly helpful, particularly Lorenzo, who was one of the most friendly and dedicated staff I’ve ever seen. That guy can do anything! They helped us with restaurants, bus schedules, beach towels and even a loaner umbrella—everything we needed. The hotel is very nice with a good breakfast and great location. I’d only wish the rooftop bar was open every night, but the nearby plaza was great anyway. Note that if you are driving there you need to ignore the “residents only” sign to get to the place they tell you to unload. Although the lot they directed me too was only a 5 minute walk, so just driving there and walking to the hotel would have been simpler. If you travel light I’d call and ask about that option."

"The view from the hotel room was stunning. The room size was spacious, immaculately clean with enough seating both inside and on the deck. The pool and outdoor area is also very nice. It’s a short drive into Begur town which is nice because the traffic inside the town is hectic. The only thing not perfect for us was the food at the restaurant - we ate there only once and decided to go elsewhere after that. It was a memorable stay."

"Wonderful hotel. Dinner on the outside Terrace was excellent. Super good service. The only issue is the two close beaches are VERY small. So they crowd up early. You can walk (20+ minutes each way) to the public beach at Aguia Blava which is large. Driving is easy to the beach, just a couple of minutes but the parking lot is full by 9:30am so you have to go early."

"This Villa exceeded our expectations. During the booking process and up to our travel, the host was extremely helpful and responsive. The house was perfect in just about every way. The interior spaces, bedrooms, kitchen, laundry all were very functional, clean and well designed. The design of the house (bathrooms and kitchen) was modern and very tastefully done. The bedrooms all have a beautiful view of either the private pool on the property or of the Mediterranean Sea. The decks and roof top sitting area have amazing views of the mountains, coastline and Sea. The pool is a great place to hang out after a day of exploring. There are so many coves, beaches and waterfront dining locations just a short drive away. Pals, a medieval walled city is only 15-20 minutes away. The Dali Museum is 60 minutes away. The nearby town of Begur has some great restaurants and convenient grocery stores. Also our local contact, Marta, was fantastic. When we had a minor problem with the freezer, she had it fixed in less than an hour. Well done! This home and area of Spain has it all."

"The house is amazing. It has everything you could wish for a holiday in Costa Brava. It's located very close to several beautiful coves in the area. Great pool, wonderful hot tub, and lovely views. If I had to mention one downside, the access to the residential area is via a very narrow two-way road, but once you've driven it 2 or 3 times, it's just part of the charm! Communication with the owner was super fast and he was very helpful! A fantastic holiday."

"Great hotel in a perfect location, just steps from the main plaza and within walking distance of everything. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. They recommended us the best beaches and also really good restaurants which we loved! A nice extra touch was the 24/7 coffee station with snacks and pastries available throughout the day, which made our stay even more convenient. The only downside was that the room could have been cleaner, as housekeeping standards didn’t quite match the otherwise excellent experience."

"A lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The room was really comfortable and thoughtfully created. I loved the long, spaceous balcony which was amazing and got the sun all afternoon. Love the recycling and care for the environment. The female receptionists were super helpful, calm and friendly. I stayed for 5 nights and was really comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially for those how love nature and would like to stay in a lush hotel beside gorgeous beaches."
