Un petit coin de paradis
This is the perfect getaway! An old mill, ideally situated in a wooded valley, nestled between the Mediterranean sea and the mountains, surrounded by flowing, calming water and luscious greenery. Lots to do in the surrounding area or just relax and enjoy this magical location and property, with its shaded terrace, beautiful garden with a well stocked vegetable patch and the refreshing river fed swimming pool. It doesn’t get much better than this, everything is there, and all you have to do is enjoy it. Thank you Neil and Sandro, we will be back!

Perfect peaceful holiday
This was our second stay at the old mill, we liked it so much the first time, we just had to come back! It is a little piece of paradise, the location is so peaceful, but you can still walk into Pigna for a coffee or a beer. Everything is very clean and homely, the beds are comfortable, and lots of towels etc. The best thing is the outside space and the pool. We ate outside most evenings, and used the pool every day. Being beside the river, you can spot wildlife and birds, all from your lounger. Lots of lovely little villages within a few miles drive, the local food is great too. We went to Risorante Terme one evening, the food is outstanding. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us!

Ultimate get away from it all break.
Our stay at the Old Mill was full of both relaxation and adventure! The property is very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a week. Great to meet Neil on arrival who gave us a tour of the Mill and told us a bit about it’s history. We were extremely grateful of the freshwater spring fed pools which were perfect for our 6 and 10 year old children and we had some fantastic adventures exploring the river line below the Mill catching tiny fish and swimming in the beautiful clear, clean water. Shopping is easy in Camporosso be sure to stock up before you arrive. We made the short trip via train from Ventimiglia to Monaco one day which was really easy with plenty of car parking around the station. Thank you Neil and to your dad Sandro for meeting us on Arrival and departure. Hope to be back to explore more again one day!!

A paradise of rest and relaxation
After a 2 day drive we were greeted by the beauty of The Old Mill. What better way to unwind and forget about the outside world. We were enveloped in the calm and relaxation of the beautiful surroundings of this property. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to go. There are no words to describe how perfect a place this is. Everything is there, to make you comfortable. The grounds are fabulous and we never tired of exploring the grounds and The Old Mill itself and the surrounding area. Thank you to Neil and Sandro for making us so welcome and taking such good care of The Old Mill. We do hope to come back, next time it will be for 2 weeks as one week just wasn't long enough.

Magical, perfect, and I cried when we left
The Old Mill is simply a magical place. We quickly felt like it was our own, and loved every minute. The pictures really don't do it justice - it's all it The rooms are comfortable (our big bed in the master room was the most comfortable mattress ever!!) and we loved cooking in the tiny but beautiful kitchen. Sandro's olive oil is delicious, by the way. It's very clean and for the 4 of us there was plenty of room. We spent every day relaxing in the yard, braving dips in the chilly pool, and hiking down the river - if you go far down enough you can find some amazing natural swimming holes. We fired up the pizza oven and had fun making our own pizzas from scratch using herbs from the garden! Sandro met us and was so kind and accomodating, he returned again to bring us some supplies for the heater and the pizza oven, and also took us up into the old town to show us a hike - it was STEEP, but the hike was incredible with valley views and wild strawberries included. By the way, take Sandro's advice about food shopping at Maxi Sconto in Campo Rosso - an incredible selection of really great food and low prices. We did a few day trips into Dolceaqua (the little castle is actually worth exploring), Villefranche-sur-mer (great little beach), and Cannes (for an incredible catamaran sail on the bay). We cooked a lot but also had a meal at the Ristorante Terme which we really enjoyed - typical Ligurian cuisine and fairly heavy but lovely. Mostly we just wanted to relax at home - which is how we came to see this beautiful place. We truly loved our time at the Mill, and want to return one day - hopefullly sooner rather than later! Thank you Sandro for everything!
