**Important things to know about Cardinal Casita:
》There can be guests in the main house at the property when you rent. We ask that you just respect each other's privacy.
》This is a remote property without many stores. Plan accordingly. There is a Walgreens nearby; however, a grocery store is 20+ minutes away.
》We are located on a dirt road. Expect a little bit of dust.
》Food delivery is sparse; however, a few places deliver on UberEats
》You will need a car to get around. Uber and Lyft are difficult here.
》Pest control sprays the home monthly with non-toxic, environmentally friendly chemicals to help keep the bugs away.

The Neighborhood:
The casita is located in northern Scottsdale on a dirt road but with a charming desert vibe! You’ll be about a 30-40 minute drive to North Scottsdale restaurants, shops, etc., but this location is special in that you’ll find endless hikes on beautiful trails, surrounded by nature with lots of privacy and crystal-clear stargazing at night! it’s a wonderful opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the tranquility and being away from it all. You’ll be:
- 3 miles from Verde River Golf & Social Club and a 10-minute drive to Rio Verde & Tonto Verde Golf Clubs and plenty more area golf courses!
- 18.5 miles from the Scottsdale Quarter with excellent, name-brand shopping
- 18.6 miles from the Scottsdale Airport
- 28 miles from Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall
- 28.5 miles from Old Town Scottsdale

Getting Around:
The home is about 37 miles | 60 km (about a 40-min drive) from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and 18.6 miles | 30 km (about a 30-min drive) from the Scottsdale Airport (SCF). Check your mobile map apps when you arrive.
You’ll need a car to get around, as Uber and Lyft ride services are difficult to get to/from the property.
Other Things to Note:
The casita and the main home share the same land. However, they are independent units, and you’ll still have plenty of privacy.
STATE LAW STRICTLY PROHIBITS PARTIES/EVENTS at the property. This is a residential area and the city of Scottsdale has quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. We must be respectful of our neighbors. The home is outfitted with a NoiseAware device (that measures volume decibels; does not record) that notifies us when noise levels at the property exceed the set limit. Violating noise ordinances is an initial $500 fine.
We use SUPERHOG as part of our guest screening process. Your SUPERHOG application must match the primary guest name on the reservation, and your background check must be completed within 48 hours of receiving your booking confirmation as per State and City law. Your booking is NOT confirmed until these requirements have been fulfilled. Once the reservation is confirmed, and prior to check-in, guests must sign a Rental Agreement outlining the terms of the stay, stating that they agree with and acknowledge:
- To abide by our rental terms and conditions.
- To provide a copy of a valid government-issued ID and matching credit card prior to check-in.
- We collect a non-refundable damage waiver of $35, paid via SUPERHOG
- The waiver will cover you for any accidental damage during your stay
- Keep an eye out SuperHog will contact you for the next steps.
The max occupancy is 4. Day visitors are ok but must not stay overnight. There is a $250 per person fine for overnight guests over the max occupancy.
The home is on well water with a septic tank. All pipes lead to the septic tank. Please follow these basic rules, as fees may apply if we need to repair the tank.
-Never flush anything other than toilet paper. NOT EVEN flushable wipes.
-Use the trash for all waste disposal. Food debris, cooking oil, fats, grease, coffee grounds, etc. go in trash, not in the sink disposal.
-Avoid using any harsh chemicals.
Arizona has a severe water shortage. Please help by taking shorter showers and loading up the washing machine before running a load.
The cleaning fee at booking is a pass-through; the entire amount goes to our cleaning team! We partner with Well & Good and pay more than the average rate to guarantee a clean and safe environment for our guests. Well & Good Promises: 1) Professional Cleaners (trained & certified) 2) Offsite Laundering like fresh hotel linens & 3) Guest Essentials: luxury soaps and more. If you'd like a mid-stay cleaning, please let us know.
Mid-stay cleaning is available for a fee. Please notify your host to arrange it.
For stays of 25 nights or longer, there is a mandatory mid-stay cleaning that's complimentary. Our team will be getting in touch with you during your stay to coordinate the best day-time to do it.
We provide a few complimentary home & bath essentials to get you started, like soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, paper towels & some laundry detergent. If there’s anything else you need, you'll need to purchase these items and bring them in with you.
There is a surveillance camera on the front patio facing the driveway for security & guest safety.
Mail service is not provided at this location. While packages can be delivered to your doorstep, access to the mailbox is not available.
HOUSE RULES:
- Travelers must be at least 25 years of age or older to book.
- Primary guest on the reservation must stay at the rental property.
- Locals, contact us prior to booking. Instabook is unavailable for residents coming from anywhere within 4 hours of Scottsdale, AZ.
- Smoking of any kind (tobacco or cannabis) in the home is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with the non-smoking policy will incur a $2,500 penalty if damage to furniture or any smoking odor is detected.
- Recreational drug use or any illegal activity at the property is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply incurs a $300 penalty.
- No tent or other structures may be set up on the property grounds.
- Renters agree to cover any cost related to damages that occurred during their stay, including extra-cleaning charges if needed or any unauthorized pets if discovered during or within a reasonable amount of time after their stay. These amounts are charged to the credit card on file and followed by an email breaking down the fees and damages. No charges are ever processed without prior written notice. The minimum fine for damages is $500.
- Renters may be required to provide a government ID on the day of check-in or during their stay.
- Please avoid moving furniture.
- Dog-friendly property (max 2 dogs) with prior authorization only, and a pet fee applies. Must clean up after your dog or incur a $150 additional cleaning fee.
Interaction with Guests:
The home uses a Smart Lock keyless entry where you can check yourself in using the electronic door code.
