Beautiful home. Comfortably accommodated myself significant other and seven kids. 20 to 30 minute drive to three ski resorts. Quiet, secluded, private stay large kitchen, making it easy for food prep and dinner.
Pictures do not do it justice. Lots of space for a group of 8 adults. Large game room on lower level. We really enjoyed our stay. Owner was very responsive.
The cabin is amazing and located in a secluded area for a quiet relaxing weekend. It is still only a 15 minute drive to Meijer in case you forgot to bring anything when packing. Lake Charlevoix is a close drive. We rented a boat in Boyne City for the day.
Our family of 14 thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful lodge/home! It is beautifully appointed and had everything we needed for an amazing week in northern Michigan… The house itself is secluded, but close to everything we wanted to do in the area… Golfing, boating fishing, kayaking, hiking and enjoying great restaurants close by… the game room in the basement was a big plus… Pool, ski bal, card room, ping-pong, etc. etc. and there are many games in the upstairs cabinets to keep everyone occupied… Five-star experience!

New Year’s celebration!!
What a place!! Everything is as pictured. Easy in and out. Kitchen had everything we needed. Tons of towels in every bathroom + shampoo and soap…very much appreciated. The home was perfect for our family, in a good location right between Boyne City, Charlevoix and Petoskey. Loved the table with all information about the local places to go. Game room was a BIG hit with the teens, they played Poker late into the night! We would love to go again in the summer. Our host was wonderful even when awakened in the middle of the night with a fire alarm malfunction…highly recommend a stay here.
The host was responsive and the house was amazing. The beds and pillows were all super comfortable.

Annual Golf Trip
This house worked great for our annual golf trip to northern Michigan. We had 8 guys so there was plenty of space and beds for everyone...and then some! So much to do on-site that we didn't have time to enjoy it all! (Billiards, ping-pong, foosball, ski-ball, poker, fire pit) Large kitchen with lots of refrigerator/freezer space.Communication with owner was easy and house information/check-in instructions were shared in a timely manner. Will definitely be back in the future! Thanks Dan
The house was great for our intergenerational group of 12. Very spacious, plenty of spaces to hang out all together or separately. The game room was a huge hit with kids and adults alike. The kitchen was extremely well stocked for a large party - lots of dishes, food storage, spices, decent knives, huge fridge and double range oven, with a griddle and grill. Well located with proximity to Boyne City, Charelvoix, Petoskey. The only miss was that the house didn’t have any beach towels. So bring your own if you’re planning to visit the many beaches in the area (Young State Park is the closest, and a really nice beach.) Wishes for a future stay- would love to see the addition of an outdoor hot tub and gas grill.

Wonderful Family Vacation
Our family gathered for a 5 night stay at The Retreat. It was wonderful!
The house is just as pictured and very clean. It is beautiful!!
The kitchen and dining area have everything you need, except the food! Plenty of space to prepare and then sit down together for meals. There are little things that add a nice touch - like placemats and nice dishes (service for I think 16), detergent for the washing machine, outdoor games, charcoal for the grill, great outdoor furniture on the wrap around porch...
The game room was amazing! The pool table and ping pong table provided hours of fun!
The acreage and trees made it feel very private. We enjoyed hiking in the woods, but especially enjoyed the enormous open front yard surrounded by trees for outdoor games - bocce ball was the favorite!
The beds were comfortable with quality bedding and the bathrooms were very well stocked. The master suite has an amazing shower!
The host was very responsive when I emailed questions, I received a reply the same day.
This was the perfect spot for our family to get together and enjoy family time!

Excellent time
This super spacious cabin is an excellent spot to bring the family together. The amount of fun and laughter we had in the great game room created so many great memories.
The property is beautiful… the lodge is well built and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. It was about 15 minutes from Boyne City and Petoskey and we were able to go to each to do various activities such as hiking, Biking, boating, kayaking etc.
We were a large party, and cooked a lot. We brought some of our own kitchenware, which helped. Overall, it was a lovely stay.

So Much Space & So Many Activities
What a great place for a large group! Very clean and spacious. Lots of indoor and outdoor games provided. So much to do in the surrounding area. You won’t be disappointed!
Overall the stay at the property was amazing! We had a blast being able to enjoy being outside playing yard games or having a bonfire as well as playing pool and ping pong in the game room. It was a very enjoyable stay and I would highly recommend this cabin.
Very enjoyable! The facility was just like staying at an upscale lodge. All loved the yard games and being in this area with many activities. We loved it.

Amazing Spaces
I was lucky enough to be able to stay at this amazing cabin for a long weekend. Even with a very large group, there is so much room to spread out and not feel as though you are right on top of one another. I am the cook of the group and could not get over that amazing kitchen space. I had my team of 5 assisting me in the kitchen and was still able to move throughout the entire kitchen area easily. I felt as if I was in a restaurant kitchen.
We had so much fun playing all the games downstairs, it was easy for everyone to be a part of the action.
We were able to go for long walks in the country while still being close enough to go into town and experience the quaintness of Boyne.
Would recommend this property to anyone looking to experience amazing spaces!

Simply fantastic!
I didn’t know what to fully expect, and I can say I was blown away! The Retreat is massive, but it feels cozy. There’s plenty of space for everyone.
I especially enjoyed spending me ensconce on the deck with a cold beverage in hand.
It’s close to Boyne City and I was able to grab groceries whenever needed.
Check this place out!

Our Time at "The Retreat at Boyne"
We would like to thank all those who labored and prepared for our stay at “The Retreat at Boyne.” To say the accommodations were anything but first class within this rustic appearing cabin would be a great understatement. Our stay was most enjoyable, and the amenities were beyond our expectations.
The number one outstanding experience during our stay was simply being mesmerized by the building. The 15”-16” wooden logs used in construction. The two-story rock fireplace (very well stocked with wood) and the upper story stair rail which was hand crafted allowed one’s gaze to move around the room in continued fascination. Ahh, and let’s not forget about the kitchen. First rate appliances, multiple work areas, accommodating amenities and open to the great hall so one could stay connected with the group. Lastly, surrounding the cabin was 104 mostly wooded acres with trails and various wildlife. Be prepared for deep foliage and beautiful old trees.
We also found the property most convenient to local activities with Boyne City and Petosky being only 15 minutes away, and Harbor Springs only 30 minutes. Strolling on the beach, wandering the shops and enjoying a meal out. A most wonderful time. Oh, yes, I almost forgot, Petosky hosts a number of larger stores such as Meijer for those couple of items we accidently left at home.
Overall, this is a most wonderful place to stay, and we will highly recommend it to our friends.

Middle of Nowhere in the Middle of Everything
My family and I stayed at the Retreat for a week and loved the experience. When we first arrived we couldn't help but feel that this place was in the middle of nowhere as it is set down a road that doesn't get much traffic. Once we settled in, we quickly loved the quiet seclusion of the setting and enjoyed knowing that we had over 100 acres to enjoy nature walks with the kids. We also tend to enjoy trying new restaurants and visiting local shops, so being just 10 minutes outside of Boyne City as well as only 15 minutes to either Charlevoix or Petoskey was great for us. We all agreed that we want to come back during the summer season to be able to check out the fields next door at Lavender Hill Farm as well as drive the Tunnel of Trees up to Legg's Inn in Cross Village. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys being close to all the fun activities that the nearby towns offer, but still wants to experience the quiet natural beauty of Northern Michigan. Oh, and I love to cook, so that kitchen was a huge plus for me; I absolutely loved using that stove. We will definitely be back.

Perfect for a large group
We had the pleasure of spending New Year’s Eve here with our family, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and we all fit.
Our family of 4 got to spread out in the 'Pure Michigan' apartment. It was just the right size and allowed a quiet area for our baby to nap.
The property is very peaceful. We had some great hikes and even a good sledding hill. Being able to use the fire place at night was really relaxing and created a great atmosphere for some family bonding time. We can’t wait to be able to stay here in the summer and see how much fun the area has to offer!
