The Mohican Lodge and surrounding areas for walking/running/hiking is just a perfect weekend getaway. My husband and I spent the weekend there for a half marathon race. The trails around Pleasant Hill Lake are spectacular. The lodge itself is very nice, rooms are comfortable, food choices are good and the staff is very accommodating. I highly recommend this property!

The kids had a blast, we will return. The staff was great, and everything was clean. Convenient if you are going to Snow Trails.

Christmas Getaway
The staff was very friendly. The room was nice, and I enjoyed my view of the forest. I would have enjoyed hiking more had there been no hunting on the trails, but since it was Christmas, I understood that was the risk.

Hunting is permitted in designated areas only in the State Forest. It is not permitted in the State Park, which is where the trails are. A Ranger should have been notified

Clean A lady serving dinner was very nice to me, her name is Roma. I would go back because of the staff. The gift shop is wonderful, well kept.

Relaxing
Had a very relaxing stay. The lodge was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Food was very good with beautiful view of the lake. Saturday evening pool was filled with so many kids, opted to get up early on Sunday morning and luckily had the pool/sauna all to myself. Enjoyed the board games/card games provided to use during our stay. Only complaint is they seemed to not know anything about the guaranteed 2 hour late check out with the VIP property. They did allow us to check out 1 hour late.

The lodge and surrounding woods were beautiful with a short trail about the lodge and other woodsy trails only 5 minutes away at Pleasant Hill Dam. Beautiful time to enjoy the fall leaf changes and for an anniversary getaway. The restaurant at the lodge was also reasonable and good quality with enough options to choose from, not to mention craft beer from the nearby Phoenix brewery in Mansfield.

Overall everything was lovely. I just found that the hallway by my room was a bit cool, whereas other hallways were warmer.

Remember the dark wood interior decorating theme of the 70s? Remember how dark wood sucks all of the lights out of a room? This whole place is like that. It’s very dark and very dated. Lots of dead bugs in the doorjamb. Overall it felt dead. The only upside is that it was located in a beautiful area.

Beautiful surroundings, quiet. We were turned away at breakfast time because we got there at 10:30am and that’s when they closed. That was very disappointing because there were only 2 of us.

We came in let after a music festival about a half an hour away, and when I say we drove into the darkness, that’s exactly what I mean, very winding roads very dark, the lodge itself was pretty dark, we had a hard time even finding the front door lol. They had a nice breakfast buffet, for 12.95 I think I we paid. The rooms were a little dated but over all clean and nice.

Great Views, Clean, Awesome Staff
Perfect! Check in was smooth. The lobby is beautiful!!! The pools were gorgeous and we loved the arcade. The food in the restaurant was delicious and left us with full bellies. We loved the view as the sunset and we ate our dinner. Our waitress was so kind she really made the night special. We can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful property and location. Lodge itself is very outdated. It is stuck in the 90s from the decor to the music in their restaurant to the point it was comical. Grounds are well kept and very nice. Rooms are not the best for the price. Pics online are deciving.
