"What an amazing stay! My husband and I visited Locavore Cottage for our anniversary with friends joining us for the Dine on the Land dinner series which was fantastic!Just one hour from Chicago, this is more than a stay, it’s a unique experience to slow down, unwind, and relax into a gentler lifestyle. The property itself is just beautiful and expansive. You can wander the flower gardens, explore the vegetables growing, or stroll through the walking path around the pond. We saw critters big and small - there are goats, donkeys, kittens and chickens on the property. If you have little ones, this is the perfect place to explore! Also, the sunrises and sunsets are unmatched and truly magical.The cottage itself balances modern comforts with quaint charm that eases you into a slower pace. We found everything we needed when cooking, had plenty of room in the fridge, the beds were so comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious enough for all four of us.I highly recommend booking the cottage for a Dine on the Land dinner as we did. There was live music, great wine, and the food was top notch! We made new friends that night, picked up souvenirs in the gift shop, and learned more about the story of Locavore Farm. All of which is made possible by Rachael and Chris.You could not ask for better hosts! We felt welcomed like family as soon as we arrived and got to know each other throughout our stay. We are still talking about our magical weekend and planning another visit next year!"
