Conveniently located near Arezzo and surrounded by wonderful vineyards, it's also within walking distance of the charming village of Pergine - perfect for a morning coffee at the local bar or a relaxed dinner at the village restaurant. Chef service and car charging available. This vast property provides ample accommodation for 12 + 2 persons, with its spacious kitchen (complete with indoor BBQ and ice maker), large dining room with enormous fireplace, and living room spanning the back of the house. There is also a further living area on the first floor, again with a fireplace ...and on the lower ground floor, there is a cinema room, perfect for evening or rainy day entertainment. Outside there is plenty of room to relax and dine al fresco under the shade of mature trees. For reading in peace there is a wonderful covered terrace leading from the first floor living area. The 200.000 sq. meters of parkland / fenced garden is a paradise for children, and with 700 olive trees, there are plenty of places for relaxing. The private, gated swimming pool with Roman Steps is a real luxury, and this area is lit at night for those nocturnal swims (Note that outside of July and August the pool is heated using an air pump system. The temperature of the water will depend on the outside temperature, but in any event, the pool will be warmer than those without the heat pump). There is also a hot tub in the garden. If you can tear yourselves away from this wonderful place, then the villa is a short walk from the local village, and it is perfectly located for exploring Tuscany. For rainy days, there is a fully equipped 12-person Home Cinema. Location: Situated within a large 'park' of Olives, cypress trees, and oaks, and within the Tuscan Triangle between Florence, Arezzo, and Siena and only a short walk from the local village where you will find cafes, groceries, and restaurants, this villa is ideally located for day-trips to Siena, Arezzo, Florence, Rome and the Chianti region in general. You can even pick up a bus 300M from the property which will take you to many of these places! The Villa and grounds are beautiful, the owners make you feel like family, and the location is perfect for exploring Tuscany. The Villa is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you will need. The house is amazing, and you truly feel like you are in a private home. The owners Alessandra and Massimo made two outstanding dinners for us during our stay. We were three families going, and there was plenty of space both inside and outside for everybody to do as they please. La Maesta being so amazing and feeling like home along with being in a small village, allowed for the feeling of living in Tuscany.Queen beds and a bathroom for each room made everyone comfortable. We cooked almost every night. In May we lit a fire at night and enjoyed the beautiful dining space while in June, we BBQ'd and ate outdoors. Watched a few movies in the theater room. Spent hours at the beautiful pool area.It is 1-1.5 hrs from all the towns you would like to visit. Train to Florence nearby made easy travel.Alessandra and Massimo were amazing and friendly. We loved them dearly by the time we left. Don't skip the Tuscan Feast! You will eat well! Be sure to read Alessandra's book (Amazon) "A Life in Tuscany" before you come. Alessandro and Massimo were wonderful hosts. They live a few miles away but provided great restaurant advice, van and wine tour booking assistance, and shopped for breakfast essentials before our arrival. Best of all, they cooked two wonderful multi-course meals for us which we enjoyed al fresco on the back patio overlooking the olive grove. The house is a beautifully restored villa built in the 1600’s. It was clean. The AC was fine even though our stay was during the recent heat wave. The pool was wonderfully refreshing and cleaned by Massimo every morning. We enjoyed two delicious sunset dinners at the Ristorante le Cantine- the only restaurant in town a short walk away. The house is an easy drive to beautiful Arezzo, Montepulciano, Sienna, and, of course, Florence. ##### David S. It was more than spacious for us all (9 adults)...beds, baths, kitchen, outdoor space. living room were perfect. The host family (Alessandra and Massimo) were more than willing to show us around the property, they even went shopping for some essentials so that we didn't have to rush out to the store when we arrived.. They even arranged a couple of nights to cook us dinner that was as good as any restaurant that we ate it. I highly recommend this Villa to anyone as the location is ideal to use as a starting point to see this beautiful country. All eleven of us really enjoyed our weeks stay with 6 adults and 5 children. The pool area is great and the children loved it. We made good use of the barbecue and pizza oven. The shaded area is also welcome. Lots of places in the garden area to sit and relax. Within easy distance of places to visit like Arezzo and Siena. The village restaurant Le Cantine is superb and caters for families at a very reasonable cost with great local food and wines. It is only 5 mins away. A very small market on Fridays in the village also sells fresh produce. There is also a bakery and other small shops in the village for all your needs as well as a pharmacy. Alessandra and Massimo were there to greet us on arrival and whilst giving us what we thought was a full tour of the property and grounds they left so much more to be discovered when we had settled down and took the time to explore for ourselves. We are a family of four plus Grandma from Hampshire and during our two week stay we had two other families join us at different stages. The look on their faces when they arrived was a delight. At peak we had nine staying in the villa but there was ample space to go find a quiet corner and read or just chill out with everyone else. For all of us the photographs and descriptions just cannot do this villa the justice it deserves. Whilst being sufficiently secluded the villa has the advantage of being located in the delightful village of Pergine Valdarno which had all the amenities available for essentials including the local bar and restaurant both of which were frequented on several occasions! 20 minutes drive away there is a very large supermarket in the ancient town of Arezzo which is easy to find and fulfils all the requirements for that inevitable big shop. In terms of entertainment, the meals we cooked using the outside wood fired pizza oven and the indoor wood fired grill with meat from the village butcher lasted hours and usually ended down by the pool with another glass of wine and the lights out just watching the stars, satellites and shooting stars. When we managed to pull our two young mad keen swimmer daughters away from the swimming pool which by the way is a great size we took in a few day trips including Florence by train, Sienna, the Chianti Vineyards and Arezzo. This was more than enough for us as the villa was where we found ourselves most relaxed and at home. We must not forget the fantastic dinner that Massimo and Alessandra cooked for us. It was a Tuscan gourmet feast which included several more kid friendly dishes for the youngsters. it was a beautiful evening and one we won't forget. Whilst we were lucky enough during our stay to experience the weather that you just dream of when you are booking the holiday the local mosquitos were also enjoying it so whilst unavoidable in these climates it is worth making sure that you are armed with effective insect repellents.
