There are many walks right from your door, along with a local village bakery/cafe and pub within a mile. The cottage is also just a mile from the start of the Hartside Pass which is very popular with cyclists. A short drive away is Ullswater, where you can take a boat trip or the steamer across the lake, stopping off to explore Aira Force waterfalls along the way. The market town of Penrith is also nearby (10 miles), with an array of shops, pubs, and restaurants to choose from. For an adventurous day out, there’s a direct train service from here to Glasgow and Edinburgh if you fancy exploring the shops, museums, and art galleries slightly further afield.

    As you take the step up into the entrance of this property you will find yourself surrounded by the rustic charm and country-style features of the open-plan lounge/kitchen area. This cosy retreat has been thoughtfully designed to ensure you have everything you need for your break away. A convenient breakfast bar separates the well-appointed kitchen from the welcoming lounge. The soft seating in the lounge is a great spot to put your feet up after a day exploring the natural beauty of the Lake District. Stairs lead up to the first floor from the lounge area and into the comfortable king-size bedroom complete with ample storage and en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath.

    The cottage boasts a lovely stable-style front door that you can swing open on a warm evening and look out onto the courtyard or sip your morning coffee. The shared courtyard is a real suntrap, with seating to sit out and soak up your surroundings, or on a clear evening why not enjoy looking at the stars with a glass of something! The village location is very quiet, with the main daily soundtrack consisting of birdsong, the odd tractor and an occasional passing herd of cows or sheep!
