"Booked a “Superior” king room. The actual room was far from superior! Aged aluminium windows, and air conditioning broken. Had to leave the window ajar, because so hot in room, and woken by street noise at 2-3am, even on 10th floor. Had requested help from front desk with air conditioning when arrived and was told it would be fixed while I was out. Called when back in room 3 hrs later and it was still not working and was told that actually it had been broken in the whole hotel (except mezzanine floor level) for at least 24 hrs before my arrival and would not be fixed in my stay. They promised to send a fan to room; it didn’t arrive. I stayed at a Premier Inn a week later (half the price; admittedly not in Cardiff city) and the room was better for sleep. On the more positive side, location in centre of city is great, and good breakfast selection and nice bar area."

"Strategic and centrally located in city centre, yet it's very quiet. 5 to 10 minutes to intercity bus stop, particularly if you use Flix bus. The bus stop is around the corner. Cardiff is buzzing city, plenty eatery places and cafes. Excellent breakfast at the hotel. Highly recommend it"

"Do not book Cardiff Bute Terrace Hotel By Belvilla. This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The listing is completely misleading and the photos are nothing like what I arrived to. I honestly cannot believe third-party sites are still taking bookings for this place. The building was filthy and was unsafe. Windows were smashed and the communal areas were disgusting. Rats are freely running around the communal areas the building. There appeared to be drug use in the hallways. There are no circumstances I would have stayed here. The advertised parking did not exist. The contact numbers online did not work. I called them again while standing inside the hotel in front of staff, and they still did not work. I asked to speak to a manager and was refused. Staff initially refused to give their names. One receptionist eventually gave the name Meena, and I was told Gio/Geo Johnson would contact me. That went nowhere. When I asked Meena if she would stay there herself, she laughed, shook her head and said no. That says everything. We left immediately and had to pay for another hotel. They have since refused the refund and are avoiding Hotels.com, blocking all contact. This place should not be listed. Avoid."

"Good hotel about 10mins walk from Cardiff Bay. Room was clean, beds were comfy. Breakfast seemed to be good quality plenty of choice and always topped up. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free parking in Cardiff was a bonus. Only slight gripe was the noise from the dual carriageway behind the hotel. "
