In de natuur, zonder TV en relatief weinig digitale prikkels. De wekker bestond uit een aantal schapen, elk met bel om, die ‘s morgens onder je slaapkamervenster kwamen grazen (gelukkig niet te vroeg). Overal vogelconcerten en aan de voet van de berg hoorde je de Tamega-rivier stromen. Elke dag vers sap van de appelsienen, citroenen en pompelmoezen die nog aan de bomen hingen en de winter overleefd hadden. Veel bloemen, overvloedig veel groen struikgewas en bomen met lekkere en frisse geuren. Pure rust en ademruimte, onbelemmerd. Verder was alles in orde!
