Tucked at the end of a private drive and surrounded by tall pines, this 2,100 sq ft cabin sits on 2 private acres backing directly to open forest—no houses behind you, no through traffic, just nature.

2,100 sq ft cabin on 2 private acres backing miles of national forest

- Wrap-around deck with forest views
- Indoor fireplace + outdoor fire ring (fire restrictions permitting)

~6 min to Water Wheel Falls, ~25 min to downtown Payson

1 mile of county-maintained dirt/gravel road; AWD/4WD recommended in snow/heavy rain, all other times any vehicle is appropriate.

Excellent family cabin for a getaway

We loved our stay here - everything was just as described, very comfortable and spacious. Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfy, property was great. Communication was excellent and check in/out was very simple. Highly recommend!

Great family cabin

We loved our stay at this cabin. My four teens all had space to spread out with comfortable family areas for us to spend time together. The property was the perfect secluded cabin we were looking for and we even had elk come visit us every evening.

We stayed here a week in the summer and really enjoyed the elk in the yard and neighborhood. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was very quiet.

Great space

Great stay for our family of 6. Lots of room to spread out. Great area for side by side trail riding. Nice place to disconnect. Owner very responsive to a last minute request and was very accomodating.

A Christmas for the memories book

This cabin was truly awesome! It was nicely secluded and backed up to forest land where we were able to take walks with the family. It was extremely clean and was stocked with all necessities as well as many fun amenities. The host was very responsive, helpful and easy to work with. Our family enjoyed our time at Whispering Pines and would stay there again for sure!

Amazing!

I can't say enough about this place. It has it all! Hiking, fire pit, hammocks, wrap around deck, Elk in the yard, privacy, clean and the owner is very responsive. I highly recommend this home!

Great location, very nice home and very pet friendly

The stay was Great! 7 min drive from water wheel waterfall parking . The home is fenced which is nice for the dogs . My family and another family stayed . A total of 10 of us. Plenty of bed/sleeping space . Nice clean home.

The owners of the property were awesome, friendly informative. The house was beautiful. The 2 acres was just amazing to walk out. The forest was quiet .elk coming up walking around the house. It was just an amazing place. Probably one of the best places I’ve ever rented.

Beautiful and peaceful

The cabin was exactly what I was looking for, for the kiddos spring break. The backyard goes into the Forrest which was beautiful. It was quiet and peaceful, which is what I needed and relaxing on the hammock made it perfect. We enjoyed s’mores by the fire and my little one loved the tree swing. We will be back and already recommend to friends :)

Labor Day Escape

Great property. Wooded and private. Cabin is spacious and perfect for families. Hiking right out the backdoor. Creeks and streams very close by. Highly recommend.

Best property for a large dog and elk viewing

The gates at both ends of the balcony and the large fenced in area make this home the perfect place to take your dog. We saw 4-5 elk every single day we were there. It was lovely. Our host was very kind and responsive to all our needs. He always responded to my inquiries within minutes.

26th Anniversary Get Away ! :)

This property is the perfect place to enjoy peace and quiet; spend time with your dog(s); relax and read in the hammocks; go hiking; ride RZR's on the off-road trails and enjoy being away from the city. We had an absolutely AWESOME time! Thank you! :)

Great Stay

Great getaway in the woods! The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking, relaxing and having fun. It was so nice being able to take our dog on vacation with us and the fenced backyard meant he could be outside worry-free. There were even dog bowls and a dog bed for him! The cabin backs up to a fully wooded area and we truly felt like we were isolated since any neighboring houses are not in view. The hammocks and stash of puzzles, coloring books and board games kept the whole family busy. Would definitely recommend this place for a family getaway and we will be back for sure! Host is amazing!

Exactly what we needed!

We chose this property for a quick spring break getaway and we're not disappointed. We loved the secluded nature of the property and the proximity to hiking trails in the area. About a 30 minute drive to Payson and Pine, easy to get to and the roads were well maintained with the snow we received. Saw cows and javelina in the neighborhood and a coyote in the yard. The house itself was great, plenty of space for the 4 of us, with a huge kitchen great for meals. We also loved playing Ringo and the game closet was stocked.

Perfect! Exceeded expectations. Stay here!

I could go on for pages and pages about everything that was great about our experience here, but the short answer is just a resounding "Yes!". Miles of uninterrupted forest out the back door. We were greeted by grazing elk 40 feet away when we pulled up. Property is secluded, quiet, at the end of the road, but short drive back to town if you forget something. Brick is a great host. Attentive, quick response, down to earth. Like talking to a friend. We were as comfortable here as at our own house, and are already planning our next trip back. PS - Oh my, the stars!

What a fantastic relaxing and peaceful stay with so much availability to hike and enjoy nature. The fenced in yard is perfect for your pup and also the wrap around deck has gates so they don't escape. Nice large home with plenty of sleeping space and 2.5 bathrooms.
