The breakfast was great and there were a lot of different choices. We were a bit disappointed to see the pool was closed as it was still very hot and sunny outside. Also, the spa was not really available, the reception didn't know much about it and they told us to call the spa, but no one was picking up so we just gave up. We visited Thessaloniki in early September, when temperatures were still around 30°C, and were surprised to find the pool closed. While I understand the Expedia listing mentions the pool closes at the end of August, it also states that pool availability is subject to weather conditions. Given the heat, I believe it would have been reasonable for management to extend pool access. We stayed at other 4- and 5-star hotels in the area during our trip, and all had their pools open. It’s hard to accept that Wyndham couldn’t do the same. I don’t think my request was excessive or inconvenient—just a simple expectation for a summer-like experience in Greece. The hotel staff were kind and understanding, and even offered us a bottle of wine as a gesture—which I truly appreciated. However, I still find it hard to accept that the only 5-star hotel we stayed at in Thessaloniki had its pool closed during such high temperatures in early September. It seems like that the Wyndham has a poor Management. Also, I was told through Expedia I would get my VIP service and did not. The staff for room service and the dining area were off putting and made me and my people feel rushed. The manager was very nice so I feel bad for leaving a poor review. The lifeguard was nice and the front desk staff very nice too.
