town centre hotel

Posted 12-Oct-2016
Disappointed with hotel room as there was continuous running water noise coming from the bathroom as if someone was taking a shower all through the night! My wife and I both mentioned it to the receptionist but she didn't appear to be that concerned!!

Good hotel in city centre.

Posted 15-Sep-2016
Pros: Comfortable room, easy parking & good breakfast.
Cons: Air conditioning in rooms would be a great improvement in hot weather.
Location: City centre location. Lots of things within walking distance. Some very interesting WW1 memorials a short distance away by car.
Easy to find and good on site car parking. Close to all the main attractions in the city including large numbers of restaurants around the main square.

Nice hotel, terrible restaurant

Posted 26-Jul-2016
Pros: Rooms are nice, location is excellent.
Cons: Better waiting staff in the restaurant and a menu with more options.
Location: Good location close to town centre. ensure you reserve a car parking space as these are limited.
Having enjoyed staying in this hotel in the past, I was very disappointed by the poor service for our evening meal. we waited one hour fifteen minutes for our meal, despite the dining room being only one quarter full. The menu when this hotel was a Best Western was excellent. under the new management it is very limited.

Great location, Amazing restaurant!

Posted 17-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Loved the hotel. Great location and the town was amazing with lots of restaurants, culture, history etc. Only complaint was that they checked us in as three people and moved two to another smaller room while the others were outside figuring out the parking (which was not declared as a separate cost until we arrived). We did not understand they have downgraded one of the rooms until the last night at which time it was too late and when we addressed this in the morning....said it wasn't their fault...wasn't ours either but telling the client it wasn't their fault was not too professional. In the end we believe this was a French/English translation....they claimed we said we were checking in 3 but there were 4 of us so how could that be? Would still recommend in spite of this. Our dinner in their dining room was probably the best dinner in our two weeks of being in France!

Overnight stay

Very comfortable good location. Overnight stop on the way back to London. The receptionist was having an 'off day' & was indifferent about advising on restaurants. Their restaurant was full. Otherwise all staff very helpful.

A little disappointed with the room

Posted 13-May-2016 on Hotels
We were a bit disappointed with the room. Having books a double room, we found we had a small queen size bed and a single bed. The beds could not be pushed together to make a king size bed as they were different heights. The bedhead looked like it was made form some skirting boards and trellis nailed to the wall, which if you are not careful you could catch you hair in. The door to the from the corridor was not the best fitting door as there was about a 10mm gap which allows light and noise from the corridor in. Not sure how it would meet fire regulations. The window sills in the room were fairly high due to there being a flat roof and skylights at sill level. The hotel bar was very drap and felt more like sitting in a hallway, it was also very expensive at about £17 for 1 draft beer (filled very short of the line on the glass), a tonic water and a Barcardi and coke. The highlight of the stay was the wonderful food we had in the evening at their restaurant. The hotel also has its own small car park which is very handy. And the hotels locations is in very easy walking distance of the town center.

Return to a favorite - some changes

Posted 19-Apr-2016
Pros: Location; smartness, generally very helpful staff.
Cons: Don't charge residents for parking.
I have been here many times over the years albeit with a gap of a couple of years. I was surprised that there is now a barrier at the entrance but they obviously have gate-crashers sneaking in these days. What was less good was the new parking charge: when you paying over £100 for a room you don't expect to pay £10 to park outside! The Hotel itself is very nice if just starting to get worn in the rooms. The Dining Room is very good.

Lovely hotel right in the centre of town.

Posted 15-Mar-2016
Pros: Most things.
Cons: Staff a little I dole t.
Location: Arras is beautiful.
This was a very attractive hotel I. The middle of Arras and a little bit of a find for our family as we know Arras quite well. Quite tricky to locate but a really lovely building. The staff were a little inept and although they allegedly spoke English, never quite seemed to understand what we were saying. Fortunately I speak French fluently so was able to repeat questions in French, but as they do claim they speak English, I think this issue should be addressed. The room was comfortable, and all went well. At checkout we had difficulty locating a me bef of staff but having said that it was early in the morning. A bell at resceptio. Would have been helpful. All in all an excellent stay, and we look forward to going back
