Large, comfortable cabin that was perfect for two teens and one adult. It’s a perfect place to relax after a day of excursions and there are nice walks directly from the unit.A quick walk or drive to Rathtrevor beach.

We had a very relaxing stay at the cottage and really enjoyed the deck and overall privacy. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glasses, cutlery and pots and pans. It was a little unexpected that no shampoo or shower gel was provided, but there are plenty of stores within easy driving distance to buy anything you need. The host declined my request to charge an EV, but provided a list of charging stations nearby. The check in and communication was excellent. The resort has a wonderful indoor swimming pool a short walk away from the cottage and we took advantage of that. The beach is within walking distance or a 5min drive away. The mini golf place next door was a lot of fun for our family. The area is very quiet and near a forest, so if you are looking for peace and quiet, it’s great. For any nightlife or restaurants you’ll need to drive to Nanaimo (30 min) or Parksville’s city centre ( probably 15 min?).

Such a lovely cottage, close to the beach and mini golf!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karen’s cottage. The cottage is decorated well and the kitchen is fully outfitted. It’s an easy walk to the beach and mini golf and ice cream! The beds were comfy and we all slept well. We’d definitely come back and stay here again!

Excellent!

This was our first time renting thru VRBO so i didn't know what to expect. I was more than happy with this tastefully decorated property and want to return on our next visit to the Island. Karen & Merv have thought of everything a person could need during their stay at the Hummingbird cottage. Great hosts!

Beautiful and Cozy!!!

We loved our recent stay at Karen's cottage! My husband and I, along with our two "kids" ( 21 and 23) and our little dog had a wonderful time. We had the master bedroom, our daughter took the second room and our son had the pull out sofa, it was easy peasy. The cottage had everything we needed, it was clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and the perfect location. Karen was lovely to deal with, always prompt with a response to questions. Honestly, it was the perfect getaway for our family before the kids head back to University. So happy we chose it!!!
