This cottage is flooded with natural light that accentuates the high vaulted ceilings and furnishings that will provide you with all the comforts of home. Our kitchen has all the necessities for preparing meals which can be enjoyed on the private back patio. Choose a dip in the year round indoor heated pool, a soak in the hot tub or take advantage of the exercise room which are all steps away from the cottage.

We had a wonderful stay at Starfish Cottage - very clean, fully stocked and great communication with the owner. Perfect for our family with 3 kids - we would return in a heartbeat!

The unit was very clean and central to the people and places we wanted to see. Julie was awesome and very easy to communicate with. The one thing that could be improved would be the hide-a-bed mattress. We know they aren’t awesome to begin with but this one was particularly floppy and our youngest (10) could feel springs in his back. We layered blankets to help. Also the unit gets quite warm with 6 people in it so having the windows open is a must. Overall we loved our stay and will be back for sure.

Our hosts were very accommodating on our month long stay at Starfish Cottage. We brought our bikes with us and there was a very nice storage area for them that was unexpected. The location is great. We often got to see dear on our evening stroll with our pup Coco. It was also a short ride to the beach and coffee. The cottage it’s self was nice with lots of room and everything we needed for our stay. Penny and Julie were very responsive to our questions- excellent hosts. Hope to stay here again.

Fantastic Spot!

Great property in wonderful location close to restaurants and beach! Lovely quiet location. Very well equipped kitchen. Very private deck with great patio table and BBQ. Would highly recommend!

Family Stay

Spent 4 days in the cottage, and it was great. We were worried about the hot temperatures, but even without AC the fans in the rooms/bedrooms and the shade kept the cottage from getting too warm. Great location to walk to the ocean. Would stay again.

Absolutely wonderful!

This beautiful cottage really is a home away from home! We are very picky when it comes to staying somewhere other than our own home and Starfish Cottage was perfect! Julie was very easy to communicate with, check in was super simple, and the cottage had all of the amenities you could ask for and then some!

Everything we needed was right there. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was stocked with spices etc. There were bath towels and pool towels. We truly enjoyed our stay and wish it was longer!

Great spot for exploring Parksville

This property is so clean and well cared for. It was perfectly comfortable and the kitchen was much better stocked than most places. They even had board games and colouring supplies for the kids. The pool is a great feature, although it gets quite noisy when busy. I would absolutely rebook this for another vacation. Lots to do just a short walk or drive away.

Starfish Cottage

Our group of 5 recently stayed at Starfish Cottage. We found the cottage to be exceptionally clean throughout and we had no issues during our stay. The cottage is perfectly located within the development as it is very close to the indoor pool and is only a 3 minute walk to the mini golf. We would not hesitate to book here again in the future.

Home away from Home.

We really loved staying in ocean side .lots of walking trails and sities to see.The pool was only a few steps away. The place we stayed was excellent ..Everthing you needed was there.It seemed to be a home away from home. I would go back there again ..Everyone was so friendly. Nice too look out your windows and see little bunny rabbits running around.

Wonderful vacation rental for families

We had a great time at this rental! We had 2 adults, and then a 13yr, 10yr, 3yr, and 2yr. The older 2 kids loved having their own loft space and private bathroom. We brought a pack n play and it fit in the guest room closet perfectly so that the toddlers could also room share. The beds were comfortable and we all loved the patio with privacy hedges! The kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials. We loved having access to a dishwasher and laundry during the week. We absolutely loved Parksville, this cabin and the surrounding area and cant wait to come back to visit again next year. If you are looking for a family friendly vacation rental for a larger family, this space is perfect!

Great Family Vacation Spot!

We loved the house - it was clean and comfortable and plenty of room for everyone. Two good size bedrooms downstairs and the kids loved having the upstairs loft bedroom with their own bathroom and TV. Fantastic location for activities: minigolf is a 2 minute walk, a huge park nearby, and lots of cool spots within a short drive (Coombs, Cathedral Grove, etc). We also did the 5 minute walk to the resort nearby and had a fabulous dinner at the steakhouse/restaurant. The location of the house in the community could not be better if you want to use the pool - it is a 30 second walk. The pool was really nice and was never crowded even though we went everyday at least once and at different times of the day. The area was quiet and clean, no noise at night. Would highly reccomend!!

Excellent stay & can't wait to come back!

We had the most wonderful time staying at Starfish Cottage. Wonderfully located, close to a lot of beautiful beaches (Parksville Community Beach & Rathtrevor beach), and local restaurants (The Black Goos Inn!). The kids loved the warm water indoor pool and spent hours in there playing the first couple of days we arrived when the weather was a bit to cool for the beach and ocean swimming. Our kids loved it! Evening swim after dinner to drain their batteries! Our host Julie was friendly and easy to communicate with. It was a pleasure dealing with her. Starfish Cottage was clean, comfortable, and very welcoming. The cottage provided a home-away-from-home with a well stocked kitchen of dishes, cups, and the basic cooking pots/pans, and utensils, allowing me to prepare a simple dinner on our first night and simple breakfast of bacon and eggs in the mornings since we're all slow when first waking up and like to lounge around before hitting the beach around 1130am. I loved the coffee maker provided that allowed me to preset a timer for the next day were I wake up to freshly brewed coffee waiting for me. And THANK YOU for providing coffee too! (insert heart emoji here). Check-out was very easy and Julie didn't have a long list of chores for us! Expectations at check-out was basic common sense and very acceptable. Respectful to both host and guests. Most definitely my family will be returning to Starfish Cottage in the years to come.
