I've stayed in Le Ballu before and think it's now become where I most like to stay in Paris. It's very walkable to, for example, Opera or Montmartre and has a direct metro line to the Notre Dame area, so it's very well located while also being a bit away from the tourist crush. The staff were generally very helpful and friendly, but this was let down significantly by their poor response to complaints - specifically when we reported that the pool was extremely cold and all but unusable, there was no apology or explanation of what would be done to fix it, despite this being one of the key attractions for this hotel.
