We really enjoyed our stay here on our first visit to Paris. I would highly recommend this hotel... the staff speaks English and is incredibly accommodating. I was on a short business trip and the Meridien Etoile was perfect for what I needed. Home to a wide range of historical and cultural attractions, Paris is one of Europe’s most popular destinations. With sights such as the Eiffel Tower and its sweeping panoramic views of the city, museums like the Picasso or the Rodin Museum that hold some of the artists' greatest treasures, and religious sites like Notre Dame Cathedraland the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, it is easy to understand why.
A large part of the popularity of Paris, however, has to do as much with its atmosphere and social institutions as it does with its art and history. It is commonly known for being home to some of the world’s greatest restaurants, bars, and cafés. Add to this the bustling world of Parisian high fashion, and the many boutique shops, and you have a city that appeals to just about everyone.
At first glance, Paris might not seem like an adventurer's dream destination, but the city and its surrounding regions have plenty of great opportunities to enjoy sports; from cycling in the Bois de Boulogne, to hiking and climbing in the Buttes Chaumont. Visitors should be sure to also catch a football or rugby match at the Stade de France or the Parc des Princes.
