Mandalay Beach is a wonderful quiet white sand beach perfect for family fun or couples looking for a retreat. Enjoy ocean sports and even borrow the boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella we have provided. When you are done at the beach rinse off in the warm outdoor shower in our private courtyard. This property is newly remodeled with quality furniture in a beach cottage theme. Enjoy Channel Islands harbor nearby and go whale watching, paddle boarding or kayaking on the marina. Sundays at the harbor you will find a quaint farmers market. Also many nice spots to dine along the marina. Our beach house is located in the city of Oxnard which is perfectly situated in between Malibu and Santa Barbara. Visit one of the many wineries nearby! Erica was very responsive to any communication and the property was VERY well stocked. We really appreciated the beach chairs, mats, umbrella, sand toys, boogie boards and beach towels. Such a pretty place! The kitchen actually had sharp knives! Only downside of the kitchen is zero food storage (foil, bags, Tupperware). We did experience beach tar, which was a first for us, but there was tar remover and we figured it out. The only kind of strange thing was the bedroom configuration. We were all able bodied adults, but the loft bedroom within the second bedroom did not afford much privacy and the noise from the living room and kitchen could all be heard clearly. The ladder to the loft is very steep and getting luggage up there is interesting. The landscaping is amazing. The fire pit did not work, maybe out of propane? Overall, a very enjoyable stay in a beautiful property. Would definitely stay here again. ##### Teri K. If you are expecting three bedrooms, just be aware that two of the bedrooms don't have four walls surrounding them. They are open and it gets very bright in the morning. To get to the loft you must claim a ladder. It will get hot during the summer with no AC, but if you don't mind, I highly recommend this cute condo. Across the street from the beach and the neighborhood was extremely quiet and peaceful. The house itself was spacious with lots of various games, activities, kitchen/houseware appliances, and beach gear! The owners were responsive and very polite!Negatives: The biggest negative for us was the house does not have central air conditioning. The owners have put in an AC unit in the upper loft, but it doesn't reach everywhere. Because of this, the house was very humid and warm in the afternoons and well into the evening. Thankfully, the owners had fans all over the house and in every room so we were able to set those up and also had all the windows open for fresh air. However, even with all that, it was still quite hot in the bedrooms at night, making it hard to sleep. Realistically this is probably only an issue for when there's a heat wave (like there was during our stay!), but it would've been nice to know before booking that the AC was not centralized and therefore would require extra work to try and stay cool. ##### Makenna M.
