We stayed here last year so we knew the rooms needed updating but the pool was available then and there was NO NOISE. You could stay out all day so last year we weren’t concerned about the room so much. We were given a handicapped access room (that we did not request or need) the room that was directly above the pool construction so sleeping in was not an option. Last year when you went to beach, for price of a tip you got two chases and an umbrella…this year it was $53 per day and that didn’t include a tip. The kicker was that most days they “sold out” of chairs…but there were plenty of chases and umbrellas set up not being used. They did provide beach chairs in the room with an umbrella…but after carrying them down to the beach we found that the umbrella was broken. We tried to get a replacement but couldn’t find anyone who could help us out. The next day they got one to us but it blew out of the ground and nearly hurt someone. The weather was beautiful and the people who worked there were very nice. Housekeeping didn’t clean the room until mid afternoon, and we had to ask for the sheets to be changed as we stayed for 10 nights and shouldn’t have had to ask for this. The A/C either blew so cold we needed an extra blanket or didn’t get cold enough at a lowered setting because the system switched to heat if we set it at72 degrees. The restaurant was also disappointing in that it was cheaply decorated as well as the tables and chairs were cheap. The actual food was really good, the wait staff was awful. Then, on top of what you are charged for the room, there is an additional charge of 44$ a day to use beach chairs, towels, and an umbrella. Also, there’s a $40.00 per day parking fee on top of the resort charge. There was no one at the desk when we left at 7 AM. It’s ironic that we are big Formula 1 fans, and Lando Norris is the spokesperson for Hilton Hotels, and claims he always stays at Hilton… Lando wouldn’t stay here. This is an absolutely perfect spot to see a ton of different animals and the kids loved it: burrowing owls, gopher tortoises, dolphins, manatees with the provided kayaks, and fish from the doc. The house itself was fantastic. There were 8 of us and we easily cooked dinner for the whole group and ate together at the massive kitchen island each night. The space was clean, light, and well suited for large groups. A member of our group said it was the first vacation rental that she would 100% return to, which is high praise given the amount she travels.
