Booked this Superior Family Room for four people. Two adults and two kids 16 & 13.
The floors and the rooms are a far cry from the lobby (which was encouraging). Staff was friendly.
Getting off on our floor it looked like it was under construction. But that was just the style of wallboard used. My wife and I immediately thought “Hostel”.
We opened the door to our room and were equally disappointed. Looked like a dorm room. The “twin bunk beds” were about the size of cots. My one daughter hated them and decided to try the pullout couch. Felt the frame through the mattress, so she slept on the couch as a couch.
The floor hadn’t been cleaned in the main areas or the bathroom as their was hair throughout.
Took showers and it was a flood, as the glass was 1/4” from the wall. Water ran down the wall and pooled on the floor.
Being sold out, there was no moving. We would have to endure. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good.
Location to the train station couldn’t be more convenient, but being by a city’s Central Station bring a certain crowd that you will avoid in Nicer areas of town (think Aker Brygge, Frogner or Tjuvholmen). Still a five minute walk to the Track for our connection to Flam was nice.
If you’re out and about and just need a bed, fine. I’m just not sure how this scores north of 4 stars from over 1,200 reviews.
