Hotel needs an update

Posted 17-Jan-2018
This hotel is pretty and fun, but it needs a good cleaning or renovation. It is starting to show that it has been used by a lot of people and its cleanliness is sub par. The rock 'n roll look and feel is a lot of fun. Love the music and edgy decor.

We were upgraded to a club level room. Great experience and would definitely stay there again.

Pool closed without notice

Posted 13-Jan-2018
Not notified pool would be under construction our entire stay. Able to use pools at neighboring hotels which was totally inconvenient and time consuming so really not an option. Nowhere to sit outside at all.

Closest to the parks, nice pool, comfortable room

Posted 06-Jan-2018
Pros: The best part was being able to walk right down the stairs (we were in 4146) to pool and the path to all things Universal.
Cons: Add another hot tub? Maybe another water activity like a slide or squirt gun game
Location: City Walk is a 10 minute walk, as is Universal. With the included Express pass, you can be on the Rip Ride Rockit within 15 minutes of leaving room.
Our family of 5 loved this hotel both times we've stayed there. Even with teenagers, we all fit into one room-- tight, but having 2 sinks helped. Comfy beds and amenities, and we liked the pool, hot tub, and poolside restaurant. Could use another hot tub and more exciting slide-- it's mostly for small children. The best part was being able to walk right down the stairs (we were in 4146) and being within a ten minute walk from City Walk and the entrance to the original Universal Park. (5 minutes further for Islands of Adventure). The pool is right down the stairs too.

Perfect place to stay and walk to Universal parks

Posted 03-Jan-2018
The hotel - and our room - was neat and clean. Your room key works as an Express Pass at the Universal parks which is also awesome.

Nice Hotel, close to all the parks

Posted 01-Jan-2018
Cons: Free bottled water in the rooms
Positives: Nice Hotel, close to all the Parks, free transport, Express Pass and early entry were really useful, swimming pool was good. Negatives: Food was costly, salty and no free bottled water in the rooms- which is a basic I think

Good for Park Perks Only

Posted 01-Jan-2018
Pros: The proximity to the parks, free water taxi to CityWalk and the ExpressPass make this hotel a top choice especially if you're going peak season
Cons: Make an effort to offer accommodations that are provided by even less expensive budget hotels
Location: We chose Universal because of Harry Potter World. The parks did not disappoint. We were also able to enjoy the new Volcano Bay which was a lot of fun.
Overall our experience was a good one. However, I gave this hotel only 3 stars because for a "premier" hotel, there aren't any premier perks. There are no robes, no standard microwave (can have for a fee), there was a huge water stain on our room's curtain valance, no airport shuttle, no indoor pool or jacuzzi, no free continental breakfast (unless I believe you stay on Club Level which is even pricier). I saw comp water out by the pool only. Someone told me there was water in the lobby, but I never saw it. I've gotten much more for way less at budget hotels.
