We asked upon making our reservation for a sofa bed or rollaway bed and again asked upon checking in to the hotel. The room didn't have either and it took a long time to get what we had requested twice and had been assured would be there. Disappointing. The room key to use to enter the self parking lot also didn't work for us twice.

Great hotel close to parks with easy access.

Cons: They should have a system that allows them to track a wait list for cancellations.
This hotel is the best I've been to under the Universal umbrella. It is cool, clean and close to the parks. You can walk in 5 minutes or take the boat. The staff are very friendly. The pool is very nice and lots of fun. The only issue I have is with management. We ended up getting stuck in Florida an extra day because of weather conditions in the NorthEast. The hotel was booked and couldn't accommodate us for another night, which I totally understand. However, they couldn't put us on a wait list for any cancellations that would come in, which I would have expecting considering the whole northern part of the country had no air travel. They told me I had to keep checking in with them. When I did ask one of the staff at the front desk they said there were cancellation but they were booking people from other hotels, which was very upsetting to me. I asked the manager who said this was false. I'm not sure which statement was accurate, but all I know is I had to move to another hotel for one day, which was very inconvenient. I don't think the HR did as much as they could have to accommodate us. Bottom line, great hotel as long as you don't need them to go above and beyond.

Very nice hotel walkable to universal

Posted 09-Mar-2017
The hotel is convenient to city walk and universal theme parks. We even left the park mid day to come back to the pool for a break and then headed back to universal for the afternoon. It's expensive but you feel like you are staying in an upscale resort.

Locked in our room -security couldn't get us out

Posted 07-Mar-2017
Electronic door malfunctioned. Tried to get to universal theme park for early access. Security couldn't get us out. Almost an hour later, kids were outside. Had to go they adjacent room with terrified guest still in bed. So embarrassing. Hotel offered us partial credit but still haven't applied it. Should credit us as promised for our discomfort. What if there had been a fire? No way to unlock hotel rooms even if you are security? Kids were freaked out

+ the closest to Universal Studios + Express Pass and early access included (really important if you want to enjoy Universal Studios attractions instead of their lines)

Great hotel

Loved staying at Hard Rock. The staff there is excellent. Very accommodating, friendly, and polite. The grounds are beautiful. Took a stroll in the butterfly garden. Would definitely stay there again for my next trip to Universal.

No need to ride to get to the park

Cool hotel in great location. Great pool with dive in movies. Short walk to the parks. Attentive staff (not sure what happened to the annoying yapping dog in the room next door but it went quiet after security attended promptly - rock and roll)

Great venue - Express Passes make it worthwhile

Great rock themed hotel. The beds are very comfortable and two queens work for a family of four. The fridge is handy for milk, drinks and sandwich stuff if you bring stuff from a supermarket. Excellent access to the parks, although it's only the Harry Potter rides that open at 8am. The rest of the park opens at 9am. The pool is great for kids and the pool snacks great for lunch. The Kitchen restaurant was excellent - but you'll be paying £30-£40 a head.
