Perfect hotel for Universal vacation!

Posted 29-Jul-2016
Cons: The last Thursday of every month (except Nov & Dec) they block off the whole lobby seating area to set up for a concert. It was a bit too much.
Location: We stayed on property the whole time and ate at City Walk restaurants every night. Our favorite was The Cowfish- sushi and burgers. Yum!
We booked the Hard Rock hotel for a 4 night stay with our 3 boys- 16, 14 & 10 yrs old. I based our decision strictly off of online reviews and the great location. I have to say that all of us LOVED everything about the Hard Rock! Fantastic room- we booked a Deluxe Queen room which had 2 queen beds and a decent pullout sofabed. The decor was modern and up to date with the perfect mix of glamorous and relaxed. We spent very little time in the room but when we were there, it was fantastic. Great pool- it was fantastic! My kids loved the waterslide. Never a problem getting chairs around the pool mid-day. From 12-3:00 there was live music from a great acoustic singer who took requests and was fabulous. Pool attendants were helpful and gracious. Food was good too. Prices were high but the food your got was delicious and plentiful. We ate at The Kitchen 2 mornings and the buffet was top notch! We were pleasantly surprised at the prices for the choices and quality of the food we ate. No complaints! Location, location, location! Best hands down. If the water taxi wasn't available for 10 minutes or so, we just walked the 5 minutes to the heart of City Walk, Universal & Islands of Adventure. I'm telling you- it was worth every penny. More bonuses- nice lobby to chill out and relax in, unlimited Express Passes, early admittance to the parks, priority seating at restaurants- we loved it all!

Great location to universal parks

Posted 22-Jul-2016
If you want to make your universal stay really easy, it's a great location. Lovely hotel but pool area always seemed bit "busy", teenage son wasn't allowed to play ball in the pool either which was a shame. Altogether though exellent experience and would recommend

Great hotel with easy access to Universal parks

Posted 30-May-2016
I loved this hotel, we stayed for 2 nights so we could make full use of the Express Passes for Universal and spend time at the Pool. The river taxi was great, very relaxing but the walk to Universal was only a few mins. We had the buffet breakfast - which although a bit pricey - was worth it, lots of choice and great staff waiting on. We had a drink in the bar at night, but we only had one as it was very expensive.

Top hotel

Prima hotel op 5 min. van de universal parken en ongeveer een kwartiertje rijden van de meeste andere bekende parken. Heerlijk zwembad, prima restaurants voor ontbijt, lunch en diner.

Loved the music references and artwork. The staff was very friendly. Live poolside entertainment was very nice. The Kitchen served a great buffet. Very clean and rooms were quiet.

Great as a base to take advantage if universal studios theme park. Disappointed with noise level over night and room looked a little tired. Iron did not work, bath unclean and little touches not up to scratch for example glass mats on sink 1 missing leaving glass sat on surface, complimemtary tea and coffee very limited one of each only.

i had a service dog and checkout was only allowed by noon the latest, which i thought i could get a late check out around 2/3pm (as my room was only available after 4pm) and i will be able to enjoy a day in the park and get back to the room for check out around 2pm, but since this was not allowed i lost a day in the parks.
