Six bedrooms, four with their own bathroom, give three generations room to spread out. Your private screened pool has a raised spa and faces south over open parkland. Indoors, the game room has a pool table, air hockey, and darts. The home sleeps 13 and has 5.5 bathrooms at gated Emerald Island Resort in Kissimmee, about 5 miles from Disney’s Animal Kingdom and 9 from Magic Kingdom.
THE POOL
Your own screened pool faces south and looks out over open parkland. A raised, bubbling spa spills into the pool, the deck has sun loungers, and the shaded lanai has a table for meals outside. For families with little ones, there is a safety fence between the house and the pool.
GAME ROOM
The game room has a 7-foot pool table, an air hockey table, a dartboard, board games, and a games console with seating. It keeps the children busy while dinner is on.
ROOM FOR THIRTEEN
Bedroom 1 is on the ground floor and the other five are upstairs. Four of the six have their own private bathroom.
Bedroom 1: king bed
Bedroom 2: queen bed
Bedroom 3: king bed
Bedroom 4: king bed
Bedroom 5: two twin beds, in an ocean theme for the children
Bedroom 6: bunk bed that sleeps three (a full with a twin above)
There are flat-screen TVs in the bedrooms.
KITCHEN AND LIVING
There are two places to sit: a family room with a large flat-screen TV that opens onto the pool deck, and a separate living room at the front of the house. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster, with a breakfast bar and a breakfast table beside it, and there is a separate dining room. A washer and dryer and Wi-Fi are included.
GETTING IN
You let yourselves in with a private door code, sent with your Arrival Instructions. The resort entrance is gated and guarded: we enter your names, then email you a link to register your vehicles. Emerald Island Resort charges $20 plus tax per vehicle for each stay.
EMERALD ISLAND RESORT
The clubhouse has a pool, a hot tub, a tiki bar, a fitness center, and game rooms. Around the resort are mini golf, tennis and volleyball courts, three children’s playgrounds, and a walking trail, all included in your stay. The clubhouse is run by the resort, and its opening hours can change.
