The location was wonderful - so close to the beach and away from the busier section of OOB - but still easy to get to. The hosts were some of the most accommodating we've ever had through Vrbo. They truly want their guests to enjoy and embrace the area - and we took many of their recommendations! Also, easily one of the more well-appointed Vrbos we've stayed in. We very much enjoyed the close proximity to the beach; we made several trips back and forth between the beach and cottage during the day. The cottage itself is well maintained and has just about every amenity covered, including things like cooking oil and spices. The owner was extremely friendly and communicative. She responded quickly to any questions I had and was very helpful. One aspect of the cottage to be aware of is that the master bedroom is open concept. There is no door. The stairs from the 1st level open to the master and the toilet/sink are in the same room, separated by a curtain. You must also pass through the master to get to the 2nd bedroom. This limits privacy, if that's important to you. Overall, it is a great option for OOB and I would recommend to friends. ##### Sara F. This is our 2nd time renting this adorable home. Me and my sister law enjoyed our stay very much. Such a cozy and quiet place to relax, enjoy the beach everyday and activites close by in OOB. Owners made this place so accommodating. The short steps to the beach was awesome! They made us feel so welcomed and comfortable to enjoy our stay. I highly recommend this place for couples or friends to enjoy such a relaxing area. My Wife and I had a wonderful stay. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. It is short walk (2-3 minutes) to the beach and a 20 minute walk to Old Orchard Beach. The roof deck was fantastic for morning coffee, reading and romantic dinners with view of the water. The cottage is recommended for families with small children. It would not be suitable for 2 couples as one of the bedrooms is within the other with an open half bath. ##### Alexander M M. Our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter joined us for the first two nights. There was enough room for everyone. The rooftop deck was a big plus. My best friend and I arrived in Old Orchard Beach from a very busy job in California, in need of "rest and relaxation". Old Orchard Beach is perfect. First of all it has one of the few sandy beaches in Maine. The town is a mile from the house and the house is footsteps away from the beach. The house has everything you need and was so clean and inviting. The owners are so kind and responsive. Steve actually called us to see if we wanted the window air conditioning put in. Our only very minor disappointment was that the fireplace is a nonworking fire place.....we didn't even notice. This is a perfect Maine coast getaway....close to Portland if you need a little city "fix" ##### vickie r. First I would like to say that the pictures shown are true to reality. This small chalet was very quaint, extremely well kept, and clean. The bar has been set very high for my next VRBO Rental..the organization, attention to details (extra AA Batteries for the TV remote), overall appeal is just adorable. Valancy and Steve the owners take pride in this little place, not a scratch on any walls...you would think that it is painted between guests, LOL... It is approximately 50 feet to the beach with a another house between this chalet and the morning sunrise. There is a Captains ladder in the bedroom which gives access to the rooftop deck which was enjoyed on several occasions. Overall we loved our stay. It was close enough to the centre of OOB to walk, yet far enough to have tranquility and peace. It's a terrific property and we'll definitely return when we can fit in another trip to Maine. The term "charming" really fits the bill as the house features all sorts of adorable touches inside and out. The house is quiet, cozy, comfortable, and exceptionally clean with new appliances. Our 6'3" teen found the sofa bed a pleasant surprise, our tween daughter loved the snug second bedroom, and my wife and I were plenty comfortable in the master. The deck on top of the house is a great place to hang out with a partial view of the beach. Speaking of the beach, it's an easy 100ish foot walk from the house. The area is far enough away from central OOB to avoid the noise but close enough to bike or drive or long walk (along the beach if you like) for restaurants and such. Plus Portland is perhaps a 20-minute drive northeast and Kennebunkport about a 25-minute drive southwest, so the house is well situated for day trips around the area. . ##### Garry Y. Nous avons adoré notre séjour. Ce coquet chalet avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin pour passer un beau séjour entre amis. Le seul détail qu’il faut savoir c’est qu’il faut passer par la chambre principale pour aller dans la 2e chambre. Ce qui peut enlever un peu d’intimité selon avec qui vous partagez le chalet. À seulement quelques pas de la plage, nous pouvions aller et venir à notre guise sans se soucier d’avoir oublier quelque chose. Nous avons aussi beaucoup apprécié prendre l’apéro sur le patio situé sur le toit . Ce petit plus a su agrémenter nos fins de journées. Très propre et bien équipé, nous allons assurément y retourner. The house worked well for my family of four with two small children (4 & 8) sharing the second bedroom. It was very easy to get back and forth from the beach. The rooftop was a nice place to sit in the evening after my kids went to bed. It was well appointed with everything you would need. The only downside is it gets bright and sunny early in the morning, so not ideal if you’re looking to sleep in. We were able to darken the kids room by covering the windows though, so that helped with the early morning awakenings. We would definitely consider staying here again! ##### Kendall J. I would not suggest it being a perfect place for two couples. As referenced the second bedroom is smaller and is a pass-through from the first bedroom with an open restroom area..
