It was a little remote but was easy to access. Beautiful views, quiet evenings and mornings with just the occasional noise of cars leaving the community. Initially the entry code did not work. It took several tries and about 10 minutes and suddenly the lock took the code and everything was fine. The town of Old Fort was cute but was very small and really had only one restaurant for dinner, Hillman Beer! It was fabulous! We brought our own hummingbird feeder and they found it quickly. We enjoyed watching them come while sitting in the deck. We were sure to bring it in whenever we left the cabin so it didn’t entice the bears and other wildlife to venture close to the cabin. The towns of Marion and Black Mountain were very close and both had cute shops and good restaurants. As long as you don’t mind curvy mountain roads and having a lot of piece and quiet, you’ll enjoy your stay at this cabin! ##### Bridgette H. Location and cabin were perfect for our long weekend. The cabin is spacious and well appointed. Not recommended if icy roads could be a factor due to driveway slope. It provided the perfect place for us all to stay and rest up. There was plenty of beds and it was very quite and relaxing so we could wind down and rest up after a long hard day of riding. The best part was all of us sitting around the fire at the end of day trading stories. Everything was provided for us and the owners were very friendly and helpful. We were very comfortable, and it was just perfect for a little retreat! We were delighted to be able to bring our golden retriever -- who also had a great time! Lots of nice long walks! We all loved it! We love the layout of the house. It would be a perfect place to take our grown kids -- and their kids.
