The chalet can be reached via a good tarmac road; the last 3 km is on an excellent forest road. Cooking here is done on the wood-burning stove, and the hot water is heated with wood. A gas cooker is also available. Electricity is paion-sitete (coin meter). This is the place for a relaxing holiday with a real alpine feeling! The area is home to beautiful hiking trails, various sports activities, and impressive flora and fauna. In summer, the public swimming pool in Obervellach and the Greifenburg bathing lake offer plenty of swimming fun, and the famous Millstätter See can also be reached by car in about 30 minutes. You can ski on the Mölltal Glacier, with 36 kilometers of slopes (also with a fun park) from October to mid-May. The equally well-known Ankogel/Mallnitz ski area offers around 13 kilometers of slopes. Obervellach is located in the border triangle of Austria, Slovenia, and Italy, making cities like Trieste, Udine, Venice, Villach, and Klagenfurt easy to visit. T ... Auch in diesem Jahr haben wir die Unterhofer-Hütte am Berg für eine Woche lang gemietet. Traumhafte Aussicht und ruhige Lage. Gleich nebenan weidet eine Rinderfamilie die einen immer lieb begrüßt und auch verabschiedet. Obwohl ein junges Kalb dabei war, hatten sie überhaupt kein Problem mit unserer 11 Jahre alten Labrador Dame. Auf der Hütte selbst hat man alles was man braucht. Einen großzügigen gemauerten/überdachten Holzkohlegrill und einen Gasgrill draußen, sowie einen Holzofen in der Hütte selbst. Strom für Fernseher/Licht/Kühlschrank/Filter Kaffeemaschine/E-Herd ist vorhanden und mit 1€ Münzen zu zahlen (diese werden von Hans dem Besitzer bereitgestellt). Für Warmwasser gibt es ebenfalls einen Holzofen im Badezimmer. Holz ist grob vorgeschnitten und je nach Bedarf selbst klein zu Hacken (Entsprechendes Werkzeug vor Ort). Vom urigen Brunnen kommt frisches, eiskaltes Trinkwasser. Sowohl der Vermieter als auch die Nachbarn und generell die Leute im Dorf alle freundlich und zuvorkommend. Eine wohltuende Abwechslung zum Alltagsgrant einer Großstadt. Direkt von der Hütte weg gibt es gleich einen Wanderweg der für Geübte später auch auf den Groneck (2691m) hinauf führt. Weiters gibt es auch eine Wanderweg direkt zur Leutschacher Alm. Auf der Hütte selbst die Ruhe genießen und in einer wolkenfreien Nacht die Milchstraße und Satelliten mit freiem Auge sehen oder als Startpunkt für Tagesausflüge in der Gegend (Großglockner, Raggaschlucht, Wörthersee, Pyramiden Kogel, Turracher Höhe inkl. Nocky Flitzer Sommerrodelbahn) hier ist für alle was dabei. Wir können es nur uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und haben schon für nächstes Jahr wieder gebucht. Ein ganz besonderer Ort, abgelegen und hoch auf einem Berg mit schöner Aussicht und nur ein paar Kühe als Nachbarn. Die Zufahrtsstraße ist ein Abenteuer und die Hütte sehr einfach, aber genau das, was Sie an einem solchen Ort erwarten. Bauer Hans nimmt Sie beim ersten Mal mit hinauf und zeigt Ihnen, wie der Holzofen/Kessel und der Stromzähler funktionieren. In der Umgebung gibt es eine Menge zu tun. Wir haben die Groppensteinschlucht, Kreuzeckbahn, Goldeckbahn, Mölltaler Glettscher, Ankogelbahn und den 3-Länder-Punkt mit der Kärtnencard besucht. Super viele Möglichkeiten für Wanderungen in der Umgebung und vor allem ein Ort, um sich völlig zu entspannen und vielleicht Wildtiere zu beobachten.
