This is a beautifully designed hotel, with a lovely staff. The shared spaces are welcoming and make you feel as though you are in a home. Breakfast was delicious, served at a shared table in the courtyard.

My stay at Casa Carmen was wonderful. The hotel has great artwork and decor. Very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are very large and spacious. I am most grateful for the staff who were very accommodating to all my requests (laundry, transportation, etc). There was someone on site 24/7 so it felt very safe. The other huge plus is that this hotel is within walking distance to basically everything in Centro, museums, restaurants, squares, etc. Great stay overall, would recommend and would return!

We had a lovely stay! The property is really beautiful and even nicer than it looks in photos. Our room was so lovely, well-appointed, and comfortable, and it felt like good value. The staff was so friendly as well and helped make it feel like a very personal and special stay. A nice breakfast is provided, where you can choose from a menu, and it is cooked fresh for you. Location was also very convenient and walkable. Would stay again!

There's only 4 rooms in this hotel, which is a big plus. The staff has more focus and attention on each individual guest. They're always available and ready for any and every need. The minimalist looks is elegant and there's a lot of unique art in and around the hotel. I'd give it the highest rating and recommend to for anyone that's looking for a more personal stay.

Awesome boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly. It was a treat for us to stay there. The breakfast was amazing (ask for Memelitas with cheese and chorizo). Definitely a 5 star service.

It is as great as pictures. You need to appreciate its modern design and it's great location near the Zocalo, Cathederals, and many restaurants. It is super clean, very reasonable price for the 1st class accommodations. The morning breakfasts were super - plentiful selection of full breakfast items daily. Attentive staff, super friendly - even of you don't speak Spanish. They use an Spanish-English translator on their phones so you hear what they say is English. We would stay there again.

We had a wonderful experience at Casa Oaxaca Carmen! The rooms were lovely, the staff were amazing and we couldn’t ask for a better stay being as it was our first time in Oaxaca. Hope to go back next year and will definitely stay there!!

Misleading and Overpriced!
Not worth the money. Stay ANYWHERE else. Mediocre location, average service from a couple of teenagers, and misleading photos best describe the stay at Casa Carmen. Don't be fooled by the photos, the rooms interior that effectively face inward to common areas with no proper windows or ventilation. The photos appear quite pleasant, but the reality in Casa Carmen is nothing like it is depicted. It smells stuffy and musty. Its decor appears fun and artsy in photos but is truly tacky and dated in person. The was the most disappointed stay I have had through Hotels.com ever. How can Casa Carmen resolve problems if it's employees are 18 year old kids with no real hospitality experience?

Good afternoon I am very sorry to read your comments, the room smells stuffy, because it is a relatively new hotel and still holds moisture when the room is closed during the occupation, we try to ventilate and aromatize them to reduce this sensation. Can I know what really happened during your stay, to qualify the staff of teenagers, what did you need that they could not solve? Good day, we appreciate your comments. The rooms smell a little wet because it is a restored house and much of its structure is original, dates from the times of Benito Juarez, the INAH does not allow us to make more modifications, we try to ameliorate the aroma of the rooms, however when the rooms remain closed most of the day the smell becomes concentrated again, which is common when they are occupied.

Amazing staff, very clean. The only downside is that there was no glass window at our room except the one that would open to very busy street and we had to keep it close to reduce the noise

We appreciate your comments, and we are pleased that you liked the hotel and the attention of the staff. As for the window, we regret that it could not have been opened by the noise, the double door to the street is the option we had to reduce outside noise.

Beautiful open courtyards, quiet cool room. Staff unbelievably helpful and a delicious breakfast, complete with an impromptu lesson on the local ingredients used. Highly recommend.

El Hotel es una casa, Lo cual te hacen sentirte como en casa del destino, nosotros amamos el hotel y al personal, todos son increíblemente amables, atentos, tienen un corazón enorme. El desayuno es delicioso, el ambiente es super tranquilo y muy a gusto a pesar de que esta en una avenida. Sin duda volveria y este bello lugar. Es perfecto para mi, solo faltaria una Alberca o baño de burbujas donde esta el flamingo. Ya los extraño :)

La experiencia de estadía en el hotel fue excepcional. El personal fue muy amable y estuvo siempre atento a cualquier necesidad que pudiéramos tener. La ubicación es excelente pues está a pocas cuadras del zócalo y de Santo Domingo. Las habitaciones son amplias y con un muy buen diseño. Fue muy rico despertar y tener distintas opciones de desayuno en la mesa comunal que tienen en el patio central. Para el estacionamiento, tienen un espacio reservado en la acera de enfrente para el que el hotel entrega un marbete que debe colocarse dentro del auto, de otra forma hay calles cercanas que permiten estacionar y estacionamientos públicos también.
