The quiet rustling of the breeze through sea grasses, the gentle lapping of the tides and the distant cries of shorebirds as they feed in the shallows – the perfect Sound Bite for your next beach vacation is playing at this gorgeous home with a private floating dock and breathtaking waterway views. Located on Oak Island’s west end, the nearest public beach access is only a short five-minute stroll from your doorstep.

The open-concept living space on the lower-level features half-cathedral ceilings that lend a bright and airy feel to the space. A comfortable seating arrangement of a sofa, loveseat and armchair is centered around the wall-mounted TV, where you can log into your platforms and stream your favorite shows. Just beyond the living room, the dining area takes full advantage of the stunning waterway views as you share meals or play a hand of cards at the sturdy wooden dining table that seats six. A chase lounge is ideal for tucking yourself away with a good book during the day and the provided telescope is wonderful for stargazing or spotting wildlife.

The gleaming eat-in kitchen features stainless steel appliances, under cabinet lighting and a tile backsplash. Everything you need to prepare meals is provided. A small kitchen table seating four is ideal for dining or meal prep, and an additional five barstools are available at the breakfast bar. The laundry closet is located on the wall opposite the kitchen, making it convenient to keep wet towels and swimsuits laundered throughout your stay.

All bedrooms within the home offer a TV for evening entertainment, so there’s no need to disrupt bedtime routines fighting over the remote. On the first floor, the king bedroom features direct access to the first level back deck overlooking the waterway, and the queen bedroom offers direct access to the front covered porch. A full bathroom equipped with a standard tub/shower combo and hall access is shared between these two bedrooms and the common spaces.

Upstairs, the final two bedrooms each boast a queen bed and are connected via a second full bathroom. The streetside room offers direct access to a small private deck furnished with Adirondack chairs, and the waterway bedroom has direct access to a private covered porch complete with a pair of classic wooden rockers and waterway views. A compact lounge area at the top of the stairs offers a chair and sectional as well as a final TV.

The covered front porch on the first level offers more Adirondack chairs and an excellent vantage point to watch the kids shoot hoops from the driveway to the basketball goal mounted on the front railing. The back deck is partially covered so you can enjoy sun or shade. In addition to plenty of polywood chairs in various styles, a wooden picnic table is also available to enjoy meals al fresca. Underneath the home, a second shaded picnic table is situated on a paved patio area along with a charcoal grill, more seating and a hammock ready to host the best nap of your life. An enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water is also located here.

Meander down the long wooden boardwalk over the marsh grasses to your private dock, where you’ll find one final wooden picnic table along with a bench for seating. Cast your line in the water or launch a kayak into the Eastern Channel, which connects to the Intracoastal Waterway just a short distance from the Lockwood Folly Inlet. (Please note that the pictured boat lift is not available for guest use.) And when you’re ready for ocean waves instead of waterway ripples, an easy walk of roughly five minutes takes your to the beach via the public parking lot at the Pointe. If you prefer to drive to make setting up easier, this is one of the access points with the most public parking available.
