Still nowadays you have people getting lost in the outback as it can take days until you see another person - especially if you head north towards the Northern Territory. As a rule of thumb: don't leave the vehicle ever. Too many have attempted to do this just to disappear in the wild only to be found dead. Australia is known for deadly things in general actually...The most poisonous & dangerous animals are in your vicinity - spiders, snakes, jellyfish...you name it. But, so far we have encountered none and to be honest, some Australians we spoke to, have never seen a redback in their lives... So no need to worry. ;) it's not as a scary place as you might believe... For now, let's get this stretch of uninhabited land behind us.
