First, you check in with a tablet, so you get no interaction from a person while checking in. We just got off of a 9 hour flight and went out to explore London a bit after putting our luggage in our room. When we got back, we noticed none of the electrical sockets were working in the room. I informed the staff of the issue but told them that they could not come due to the kids sleeping. They never came the next day until I had to ask again. It is very difficult navigating around a new city without a phone to guide you because it is dead. When we returned the next stay, I wanted to try the sockets first thing. When I plugged in my adapter, sparks flew everywhere. The bathroom was filthy disgusting as well. London was great but this hotel was the worst part about our vacation. It was clean, staff was friendly and property was in good condition however pick-up rides for Uber/Taxis are not the best because there is always a car that's double-parked/on top of the walking path-sidewalk and no vehicle can go in or out without problems. Ubers especially can't ever find the location. The parking attendant don't help to rush the drivers who are illegally parked. Otherwise, it is an above average American type of hotel; don't expect to feel like your in London once you are inside but it's a good place to stay. We booked this hotel because it had a pool and for my 7 day stay, I haven't yet visited the pool once because they are always overbooked (I've called down to Guest service and they always say there is no availability) which is crazy. You don't think the pool would be 24/7 operations but they close at a specific time, with the money you are paying, you would expect the pool to be open and available. Also, after Day 1 of your stay, the bottled water for drinking is not free, you have to call downstairs for basic things like robes. I'll say that the check-out process was very simple though (we just had to drop our keys off). Room service food was nice however if I order 1 bottle of water, it was 5 pounds local currency and another 5 pounds for a service charge which is ridiculous; when asked why, they said every room service order has a mandatory 12% charge to it. I hope the 12% charge goes to the staff. There's secure lockers in the basement to store your case if you get there early (cost around £5/6 for 4 hours, they also offer 1 hour or a day rate). Easy to check in and use the app as your key card or you can get a physical key too at reception. The rooms are as pictured / as small as you'd expect - no space for cases - absolutely fine as a solo traveller but not if there's more of you. You only get one small pillow per person. The toilet and sink were spotless but the shower absolutely needs a deep clean - I didn't want to use it. Room has heating but I ended up switching it off - hotel is pretty warm on its own, was comfortable to sleep. TV has a couple of news channels to watch but you can mirror. Although not much space in the room would like to see a recycle bin somewhere in the hotel. Some sandwiches and drinks available to buy by reception but not much. I found a local shop and Lidl to buy water etc otherwise around the main station they want £3/4 for drinks and small snacks.
