Dehydrated worms & filth in the sliding door track, rubbish from a previous guest on the floor, toilet seat fell off, we reported this but it wasn't fixed. Wall paper is peeling off the walls. This place was not good value for the price.

Very comfortable bed and a good shower. It was old style but clean. Nice room but very small. Check in is to late and there was no tea towel or bath mat. I thought the price was a little bit to high for the quality, size and location of the room.

Convenient location to do nearby hikes. We also received some helpful recommendations for where to go for stores and café in town. The person that checked us in also let us borrow a trail map with some hiking suggestions. Friendly service.

People who own and run Amble Inn are very accommodating and professional. Enjoyed our stay. Good breakfast also, and always on time. Lady went out of her way to assist with our laundry also. Very nice place to stay.

Great Stay!
This was our first stay, but won't be our last. Hosts were very friendly and informative, which we appreciated. The grounds are well kept, and we enjoyed our walk around them. Our studio room was very tidy, spacious, had everything we needed and more, easy parking outside room. Great stay!

The room was neat and clean with good cooking facilities.The history of the Motel was interesting to read as it is a very old history. There is a short walk through a beautiful garden with a pond. At night there are some lights in the garden. One can also have a barbecue under the beautiful trees.

HOT hot water!!!
It rained both days we were there so we were not able to explore much of the property, but what we saw looked good--lots of flowers, lawns, and big trees. They are redoing the units, so there is that activity going on. Unit was quite small, but bed was comfy. My main gripe was the sinks and faucets--one hot & one cold, just like my Grandpa's old house! The hot was SCALDING and cold was COLD, so hard to wash up, etc. They have a limited water heater, so showers have to be short. Pressure was very low so we didn't enjoy our showers.. Owners seemed nice.

A hidden gem.
It had been a long day of driving & I had spent the last 20 mins trying to find a place &then came across this wonderful motel. I decided to stay here than in New Plymouth. Recently been given a refreshing update which made me feel at home. The rooms had everything I would need. The hidden secret garden was a delight & fully lit at night which invited all kinds of mystical creatures to come out. The couple running this place are wonderful & very friendly. The English breakfast was was one of the best I’ve had in a very long time. They always remembered my and gave wonderful and helpful information about the area. I added an extra night to my stay in the area because of how friendly and invitin they were. This motel is truly a hidden gem and definitely a bonus for the area. I completely enjoyed my stay here and would love to stay next time I’m in the area.

Idyllic country setting
We arrived on the day the remnants of cyclone Gita struck. The power went off, but our hosts Allie and Tom went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and although the power was off for two nights, we chose to stay.

New owners have completely refurbished the unit we stayed in. Very tasteful decor. Owners very helpful and friendly with great plans for future development of the site. The 'enchanted garden' was delightful. Children's play area in paddock to play in. Large barbecue area.

Amble in motel taranaki
This is the second we’ve stayed here. Always very friendly lovely service. So helpful to us with our small kids. Great enchanted forest to walk through the day or lit up at night. The motel has been updated and modernized since last time, very tasteful. All the facilities you need in the room. Would highly recommend staying here, we will again 😁👍👍👍 Great view of mountain too

Convenient being between Stratford and Eltham
Motel is convenient because it was between Stratford and Eltham. Beautiful views of Mount Taranaki. Because we were only on a short (2 day) stay, I had asked that we didn't need to have changed sheets and being fussed over. The owners were great in giving us privacy and I would highly recommend them as making us feel 'at home,' and being available should they have been needed.
