The Cottage

Step inside to discover a spacious home full of warmth and character. The inviting sitting room, complete with its original open fire, comfortable sofas, and Smart TV, offers the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring. In summer, enjoy the beautiful sea views through the windows; in winter, curl up beside the crackling fire with a favourite book or glass of wine.

The beautifully renovated kitchen is bright, modern, and fully equipped for everything from leisurely breakfasts to family feasts. French doors open onto the garden, allowing fresh sea air to drift inside while you enjoy your morning coffee at the breakfast table.

A separate dining room comfortably seats six, providing a wonderful space for family meals, celebrations, or relaxed evenings spent together.

Sleeping Arrangements

The cottage comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests across three spacious bedrooms:

Bedroom One – Ground Floor
A peaceful double bedroom with French doors opening directly onto the garden, allowing you to wake to birdsong and the fresh coastal air.

Bedroom Two – First Floor
A spacious double bedroom featuring a dressing area and spectacular views across the harbour towards the Solway Firth.

Bedroom Three – First Floor
A bright twin bedroom with those same beautiful sea views that make every morning feel special.

Bathrooms

The ground floor bathroom has been beautifully finished with floor-to-ceiling tiling and features a spacious walk-in shower. Upstairs, the family bathroom offers a full-size bath with overhead shower perfect for either a refreshing start to the day or a long, relaxing soak after exploring the coastline.

Outside Space

French doors from both the kitchen and the ground floor bedroom open onto a lovely patio, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. The enclosed garden features mature flower beds, a lawn, and seating areas, making it the perfect place for breakfast in the sunshine or an evening glass of wine as the sun sets.

The picturesque Isle of Whithorn is one of Dumfries & Galloway's hidden coastal gems, offering stunning harbour views, peaceful seaside walks, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Just a short stroll away, the renowned Steam Packet Inn is the perfect place to enjoy fresh local seafood and a drink overlooking the harbour.

The surrounding Machars Peninsula offers endless opportunities for walking, cycling, wildlife spotting, and discovering charming villages including historic Whithorn and nearby Wigtown, Scotland's famous National Book Town.

Guests will have access to the entire property and private garden area.

For guests bringing along their furry friends there will be an additional fee of £30 total for up to 2 pets. Please note that you must advise us at time of booking if you are bringing you companion/s along.

IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys, we require guest verification facilitated by Truvi (Previously called Superhog). Upon confirming your booking, Truvi will contact the lead booker via a secure link, providing detailed instructions for the verification process.

The online verification requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. During this process, you may choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit (plus GBP 10 transaction fee currency equivalent) or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40 (currency equivalent) to cover potential damages during your stay.

Once the verification process is successfully completed, check-in information will be provided. If you opted in for a deposit, this will be refunded via credit/debit card after your stay, subject to an inspection of the property.
