I called the front desk before we booked and they said the trolley was operational! We arrived and found it was closed again. Well for two handicapped seniors it was a real problem going anywhere without going bankrupt. We counted on this being an easy way to get around and inexpensive. We will not stay here again! We will use Marriott again in Florida this month in Florida. We hope you will offer us a deal in New Orleans in the future at your property at 555 Canal st. We stayed here for 10 days over Mardi Gras. The room was clean, spacious and included a free breakfast every morning. We found it really easy to get around from here on public transport and felt safe walking back here at night. The hotel was obviously incredibly busy due to when we were staying there and we did have two emergency alarms go off during our stay (one in the middle of the night) so we had to walk down 12 flights of stairs stand outside in out pyjamas for what felt like ages. No one ever told us what happened. We would absolutely stay there again, all the staff were very kind, and helpful.

We had cockroaches on our first and second night. We must have killed 15 of them. We have video and pictures. They were coming out of the kitchen electrical outlet on the kitchen wall, roaches by the sofa bed, kitchen counter and floor. The room got spayed the second morning and we still had roaches that night and the next morning. The third morning we were told they were bringing the exterminator and were asked if we wanted to stay in the same room they would give us one free night. No thank you! I had been asking for a different room the morning after we arrived. I don’t care how much they spray for roaches or getting a free day, all I wanted was out of that room, 1215. When we got to room 701, we did see a roach about 2 hours into or stay. We never saw another roach. I suspect it hitched a ride from room 1215 which is disgusting. It means it got in our stuff. We went through all our stuff. Luckily found none. But still, a roach was in our stuff. We really should have been moved the morning of day two when I let them know. I saw people checking out. They could have given us one of the rooms. The lady that changed our room initially seemed annoyed. I think she thought we brought the roaches. When I told here they could keep the money for the first night, we just wanted OUT of that room her mannerism changed. The only good thing was the doorman, Kendrick.
