Sweet house in great location w some minor improvements needed
This house has nice charm and was well appointed with linens and kitchen necessities. Easy walk to town where there are darling cates and shops. Plenty of wild deer roam the area and make for a beautiful addition to the landscape. We had requested an early entry as we had groceries but the management company said we couldn't gain access until 4pm. Interestingly, no one was at the house and the listing advertised an early entry as an option. Also, the house could use a deep cleaning. There were food stains on the wall over the master bedroom bed, baseboards and some ceiling fans had very heavy layers of dust, the back bedroom facing the revine had dirt on the linens as well as some of the furniture was a bit worn. The room designated as office with 2 twin cots is open to the master bedroom with only a curtain dividing it. Also, the front door lock is definitely a bit tricky.

Eey clean, older home that has some character. Very clean, wonderful communication.
Group of 7 older guys , 3 day weekend. Home is in a good location, walkable to downtown and tubing on river. Neighborhood is a mix of renovated older homes, and some that are in need of help. Parking for 2 to 3 cars. Home did the job for us.

Great get away!
Loved everything about this place…felt bigger than advertised! Great for dogs, secure backyard that comes with its own herd of domesticated deer! Walked to most of our scheduled events in downtown New Braunfels. Highly recommended!

Charming House close to town square
The house was very clean with all the essentials supplied that you would normally expect in a nice home rental. We enjoyed the home very much and loved to watch the deer and birds from the lovely double decks.

Cute house!
Overall this was a great stay. Nice house and yard, excellent location. The code they sent to get into the house didn’t work and it was difficult to get in touch with anyone to help us out, which was frustrating. Mostly clean inside, plenty of towels and nice bathrooms. Agree with other reviews that the furniture is a bit shabby and could use some updating. But we’d stay again!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay including our dog! Very roomy! Easy quick drive to San Marcos as this was parent weekend at Texas State University. We are already planning another trip back to explore New Braunfels!

Birthday float trip
The house is adorable. Recommend checking in at Rockin R if your floating the comal. The 444 was closed for the season. We thought there would be a door going into the sunroom/bedroom area judging by the photos but it is just a curtain so there wasn’t much privacy for the 2 couples in those rooms. We had to purchase sheets for the cots in the sunroom and trash bags while there and the outdoor area isn’t level so we had to play our cornhole in the front yard. Overall We loved the vibe of the house and the record player, price seems steep for the amount of rooms and privacy issues.

Float the River
This house is best for the quick and efficient location to float the River. The house is clean and accommodates a family well. The outside area would be much more inviting with much needed renovation. The outside furniture is weather worn and torn in some areas. There are Tupperware’s of kids old toys that have rotted from the rain and weather , standing water in these Tupperware, creating a buggy environment that does not welcome anyone to sit out back. The steps going down to the lower sitting area (outside) are VERY slick with the humidity and rain. My daughter fell when her foot slipped, creating large bruising. The front porch is inviting and where we spent all of our outside sitting time but even here the furniture is worn. For the price of just over $3000/4 nights - the convince of a home just for the family is just a bit too steep for us to return.

We have followed up with the local property caretaker regarding your comments - they will clean the outdoor furniture, ensure that the the toys in the outdoor container have been stored properly with the container's lid so that they are kept clean, and inquire with the homeowner regarding adding weather stripping to the wooden stairs. Great location for a NB visit
Havana Haus is perfectly located for visitors ... just steps from the river and a few blocks from downtown shops and restaurants. You can actually walk to lunch or dinner. The house is spacious and comfortable and the vibe is very welcoming. We loved sitting on the deck and the porch, enjoying the weather. The bedrooms are large and everyone in our group slept great! TVs in the bedrooms would be a nice addition. The living room could use more comfortable seating ... the chairs are cool but aren't super accommodating. Perhaps a loveseat to go with the couch? Havana House is dog-friendly but guests should note that the backyard is NOT fully enclosed. Also, parking is a bit dicey, especially for multiple cars. The narrow gravel driveway has a large tree on one side and a utility pole on the other, so navigating it can be tricky the first couple of times. In addition, street parking is limited by space and by season. Not a big deal; just something to be aware of, especially if you have a large group. We had no luck getting answers from Vacasa to questions we had before our trip; no one responded through the VRBO app. But our local host was very responsive upon check-in and throughout our stay. Appreciated that level of communication. All-in-all, I would recommend Havana House to anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable place to stay in New Braunfels.

Very cool.
The inside was very clean and really cute! It looks to have been built in the 40's? so the architecture is very unique but does not seem outdated as it has all modern conveniences. The set-up on the exterior was nice, but (at that time) really needed a cleaning and yard mowing. There seemed to be a film of dust on everything outside. Perhaps there had just been a lot of rainy days as often happens this time of year in Texas. Owner does not allow smoking anywhere on property, so no cigarette with coffee in the morning or wine in the evening on the inviting porches. The neighborhood was really neat and friendly; felt comfortably like home. I really did enjoy it (even when having to sit on the curb to smoke) and so did my daughter and granddaughers.

Perfect weekend!
The Havana Haus was the perfect landing place for our family for the weekend. The location was ideal for all we planned to do in New Braunfels and provided us with a festive (Christmas decor) home away from home. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay here again. No complaints!

Nice house close to comal river.
Lovely decorated! Clean, but cleaning could use a little bit more attention. Quite neighborhood, walking distance to the river to tube, once you’re done with tubing it’s a 10 min walk back to the house, very close to shops and restaurants.

Wonderful weekend getaway!
My friends and I rented this property for a girls weekend getaway. We found the house to be spacious, well decorated and most importantly, comfortable. We would love to come back again! The only suggestion we would give is to change the wicker blinds in the bedrooms and bathroom because at night, when the lights in the rooms are on, you can see through the blinds from the outside.
