Beds: 5 king, 4 queen, 4 twin XL JB2 River Ranch is a comfortable and luxurious space for your next family reunion, multi-family vacation, or corporate retreat, with a full remodel completed in June 2022\. We have over 250 ft of riverfront on Lake McQueeney with a wide, multi-level dock for lakeside fun. JB2 is close to all the restaurants, bars, and activities of New Braunfels, Historic Gruene, and Seguin while enjoying the tranquility and openness of a rural getaway. The Main House features a gourmet kitchen, 3 dining areas, 2 living areas, 5 bedrooms, and 4 bathrooms. The courtyard layout includes a Casita, with separate entrances, an additional kitchenette, 2 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom. With ample outdoor seating over multiple levels, everyone in your group will be able to enjoy the 180-degree water views. Our home sits on 5 private acres, about 1/2 mile from the main road. Find your peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city: take a dip or float in the river, fish for catfish and bass from our dock, watch the herds of whitetail deer, listen to the birds chirping, or take in the majestic sunsets over the water. The house is located above the 500 year flood plain, approximately 40 feet above the water and lower dock. We still have water in our part of Lake McQueeney! As of Summer 2025, the water level around our outer dock is still 3-4 feet deep, and over 8 feet deep in the center of the river off our dock. Floating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboards, etc. are all still good where our house is located on the river, just no power boats. Regarding the Lake McQueeney dam repair work, our house is approximately 4 miles upriver from the dam, and has had only a minimal 1-1.5 foot water level decrease since the start of the work. We still have regularly flowing water from the small hydroelectric dam a few hundred yards upstream of us. \*\*\* Please note: Our home is located in a rural area. You may encounter a variety of wildlife on the property, including deer, insects, fire ants, mice, spiders, birds, snakes, raccoons, lizards, etc. We do our best to prevent pests inside the house, but you may still encounter them. Main areas of the property for your use are: \- The main house (the 'Casita' is part of the same main house and garage structure, with an arched walkway from the front yard through to the back courtyard) \- The dock and yards \- The covered picnic porch, tables, and gas grill by our barn (not inside the barn itself) \*\*\* We do not provide outdoor towels or blankets for the dock and lake. We absolutely loved the layout and design of the house. We didn’t spend anytime on the water, but it is a great set up for anyone who would enjoy that. The property exactly checked all of our boxes for our large group- spacious, on land, right on the water, full amenities, close to Gruene Hall, and not far from Whitewater either! We spent every day just hanging out in the backyard and on the river, we didn't have to worry about driving somewhere to go float. The kitchen was probably the hotspot for late night hangs and game nights, everyone enjoyed themselves. Jeff and Jessica were quick to respond and communicating any last minute needs as well! Inside Well equipped with everything needed for cooking our Thanksgiving dinner. Inside the home was great. The outside of the home where we spent the majority of our time was under kept. Spider webs every where, on all the out door furniture . The home had many windows for the view of the river windows were dirty with spider webs on the outside. Patio furniture was torn and moldy . The dock area by the river was dirty and unkept, old leaves tree limbs piled in a corner old swim floats with dirt and mold . We had a wonderful family vacation on the Guadalupe. Beautiful property and it was so quiet and peaceful during our stay. The home has ample room for guests and the beds are comfy. We all had a great time down by the river fishing, kayaking and hanging out in the water. The cows and donkey next door were a fun extra for our two grandkids. This house is perfect for a large group and the online pictures do not do the house justice! The hosts were VERY quick to respond to any questions and were great with sending updates. We had a group of 19, ages 7 to 50+ and there was plenty of space for all of us to hang out together or spread out into smaller groups. The kitchen had everything we needed and we cooked a lot so used many different pots and pans. The room sizes were great and everyone commented that they were surprised how good they slept on the mattresses since it’s pretty common to sleep on poor quality or very old mattresses in rentals. We had fun hanging out on the back patio and even more fun on the dock. The water past the dock can be deep for some but even the 7 and 8 year olds were swimming using the floats that the owner provided. A few of us caught bass and even some pretty large catfish too. The only negative I can think of is that there were no large trash cans outside by the house. We had a large group and cooked every meal at the house so we had a lot of trash by the end of the day. Luckily we had a truck so we took the trash to the bins by the hwy, as the owners asked, daily so we didn’t have any issues with animals ripping open our trash bags. Overall, a very happy and successful end of summer trip for all. Can’t wait to come again soon. ##### June M. This is by far one of the best vacation rentals I have booked to date. Location makes you feel secluded yet the listing is a short drive into New Braunfels and surrounding areas. Plenty of rooms and space throughout the property to kickback and relax. The kitchen was big which made it nice for cooking all weekend. Communication with the property owners was easy and they answered every question within a timely manner. You won’t be disappointed with this property! We’ll definitely be back! ##### Bradley L.
