We were gone each day so only in the home in the evenings and early mornings. We did not cook much then which was good as the pans were not in good shape. Please note there is also no dishwasher. Overall the furniture was comfortable and the bed we slept in was good. It is on well water so there was a bit of a smell but this is to be expected. The views and the drive to the home were nice to enjoy and we saw deer, fox and alpacas across the street almost daily. I only gave it four stars as this home could use some TLC. ##### Kim A. I woke up every morning with a cup of coffee, sitting on the covered porch, watching birds while looking at the view. It was peaceful and private, exactly what this Greater Houston area family looks for when booking Hill Country properties.My dogs and husband were supposed to join my daughter and I here, but unfortunately my husband fell and broke his wrist the night before we were scheduled to arrive, so my husband decided to stay home with our dogs, but I did walk the perimeter and the rear yard is fully and securely fenced. There are two gates, one leading to the driveway from the yard that is permanently latched, and the other leading onto the front porch that latches with a standard gate latch. Small dogs would be able to squeeze under the gate leading out to the driveway if they really wanted to, but most dogs would not be able to get out. My daughter and I felt safe there. It was cozy and had everything we needed. It was okay clean, meaning I could tell it had been cleaned at one point, but not recently. I wiped the dining table down after we ate dinner and there was a layer of dust that I wiped off. There were also sandburs on both comforters of the downstair beds. My daughter also found an earring in the queen bed. I saw other reviews mention bugs, but we didn't see a single bug in or out of the house.Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to book this cabin again in the future. The house was dirty - stained and bleached carpets; old, pilled linens, old, lumpy mattresses; mold in tub; moldy shower curtain; dead bugs; patched paint that doesn't match; etc. There were multiple remote controls, but none of them actually controlled the TV. There were two bathrooms, but only ONE working shower. (We were NOT going to take a bath in this house.) There was no dishwasher - I would expect a house of this caliber to have one. When we called management, they promised to call us back and do a quick clean and bring a new shower curtain liner - I'm home now and still waiting for that call. I think this used to be nice but it REALLY needs some TLC. I know several people who own rental houses and care about the house, their guests and getting good reviews - it seems like these owners just don't care. On a good note, the porches and views are beautiful and it is very secluded. It was nice to be able to bring our dog but there was a hole in the fence so we had to sit outside with the dog so it wouldn't get out. We rent a lot of houses and haven't seen one like this before. My group (5 adults + 1 dog) absolutely loved our stay at the cabin! It's location is perfect. Isolated, but close to Wimberley and accessible via paved roads. My dog loved the big fenced-in yard, and my friends loved the hot tub! The bedrooms were comfy and check-in/out were a breeze. I highly recommend staying here and cannot wait to return! ##### Alex S.
