"Let's start with the pros: Beautiful scenery, nice and quiet, perfect way to unplug from the stresses of everyday life. The property owner was super nice, met us at check-in, thoroughly explained how everything works, and was there if you had any issues. You are pretty much 20 or so minutes from a lot of different things, so the location was good. Cons: Unfortunately, sometimes pictures don't tell you the whole story. Immediately walking into the space, the musty smell just overtakes you. Not sure if it's because of the hot tub, but my wife and I had a hard time staying in there. The closet that's in the space smells even worse, so we didn't even unpack our clothes. Plus, we were worried our clothes would smell. The basement is really nice-looking, but we found cob webs in the shower, around the sink, and the place just needs a really good dusting. Speaking of the shower, it is so small you can barely even wash yourself. The pool was nice; just be ready for all the frogs that are around that area. We didn't go in the water, so I cannot comment on that. 1st night we were there, the smoke alarm went off at 4:30 a.m., so I eventually found it and took it down, only to find out the thing expired in 2021. You would think Evolve would have certain safety parameters. If the musty smell could be eliminated (maybe a humidifier would work) and the place underwent a good dusting, I would consider going back if we were around that area again. However, if not, I just don't understand how anyone could stay in there with that musty smell. *Bring slippers if you do go; walking barefoot wasn't optimal with the humid conditions."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The farm is absolutely stunning, and our dog loved wandering the trails with us. We didn't have time to use the kayaks but did enjoy hanging out by the lake. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the space was exactly what we needed for 4 adults and a dog."

"This is our second time renting the farmhouse at Whitegate. It is a beautiful farm, with every amenity you could possibly want. We were a party of 8 adults, six children and two dogs. The house accommodated everyone with room to spread out. The only thing it needs is a few more comfy chairs for reading. The kitchen is wonderful with plenty of room for multiple cooks. My grandkids had a hard time deciding whether to swim in the beautiful pool or go down to the lake to kayak, swim and paddle board. In the evenings they had multiple fields to run around in playing laser tag. Pauline and her husband were a pleasure to work with and provided perfect service while allowing us the freedom to roam the entire farm. I can’t recommend them enough!Kristen Donelan"

"This property is a wonderful oasis. A sweet cabin in the woods. A bit rustic but with all the comforts needed. Very private and remote. Beautiful views and with an added bonus of a swimming pool! Gorgeous mountain views across the valley. The grounds on this property are beautifully kept.Al was a fantastic host and thought of everything we could need. He even brought us a pizza when we lost power for a little while right around dinner time. Very thoughtful and generous. Highly recommend this property. We would definitely book again when traveling to Connecticut in the future."
