Everything is great. I am impressed with the hospitality of the staff, especially Esther from front desk for accommodating my tour schedule, and Dilan for the night walk. He really knows how to take good photos of the frogs.
Location wise, it is around 8min drive from La Fortuna downtown and having a car is more convenient. Not Walking friendly. If you don’t have a car, talk to front desk they will definitely help you with some options.
One note, remember to bring ear plugs as you will hear the sound of nature 24/7, especially during bed time (birds, cicadas…) And there is also a dog rescue center close by and you will hear some dog barking from time to time.
Overall, I am very happy with my experience at Tifakara.

This property is a true oasis. The rooms are top notch with all the amenities. The food is great. We stayed in the Riverside Villa Hideaway. We watched toucans in the trees while enjoying our private hot tub...doesn't get better than that! We were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff made it extra special with champagne and love decorations in our room. They were super friendly and helpful every day. The location is great. We had rented car, so everything was easily within driving distance.
Cristel, in reception, made sure we had everything we could possibly need.
Oskar was a fabulous bartender, who entertained us with his stories and shared his knowledge of his country.
Jeisson was super helpful with our luggage and took the extra time to show us the location of the sloth before we left and shared his expertise of the animals on the property.
Rolando and Tatiana were very attentive and had great food suggestions.
We will definitely stay here again if ever in the area!

This was our first stop on a first trip to Costa Rica and it was incredible. The team working here is nothing short of incredible. They are all so nice and very helpful! Everything from the welcome drink, to the breakfast, lunch, and dinner were amazing. The animals were plentiful and such a great way to start your trip with kids on the rainforest. We took a frog tour at night and it’s a must do as well. After breakfast, we hit the waterfall trail to some of the most breath taking waterfalls we’ve ever seen! You will not be disappointed to stay and visit here.
