House is open plan, with all windows double glazed, well insulated. Captures all day sun making for a very sunny and warm house. Magnificent views of Mt Ruapehu from lounge and kitchen. Kitchen has all mod cons, with basic pantry items. After a hard day at the mountain sit back and watch the setting sun changing the mountain from white to pink and orange. Linen provided, AUTOMATED drying Cupboard. Woodburner in lounge, plenty of dry firewood. Enclosed carport making for a dry and easy unloading and uploading of vehicle. A two minute walk to the transport hub to catch shuttle bus to either the Tongariro Alpine Crossing or the ski fields. A 17 minute drive to Whakapapa Ski field. 40 minutes to Turoa ski field. 35 minutes to Tokaanu thermal pools. Easy Walking distance train station, cafe's, pubs and Rock wall climbing. We only had a one night trip in March which we had to do with skiing. Central location for visiting the park This place is set up for skiers. Actually the entire town is, and this maybe one of the nicer ones judging by walking around town. It was roomy for the 2 and could sleep at 6 comfortably. The deck was nice and the kitchen. On the flip side there was no bbq to be found as advertised and no heat for our chilly night. The wood stove could easily have been used if need be though. The total price was too much.
