The original building is stunning and a walk into the past. It is filled with antiques and other beautiful ornamentation. However, The new wing of the hotel where most guests stay , is now 25 years old. It is in need of refurbishment. Still, the rooms are large, clean, with lovely traditional furnishings. Staff generally are gracious and willing to accommodate, however it took one hour to check in and deliver our luggage to the room. There was only one other guest checking in at the same time.
The grounds and pool are spectacular. I would return just for the pool. The food in the Asian restaurant aside the pool is delicious albeit service was very slow. All I. All I would happily return to this wonderful and comfortable hotel in Lisbon.
