We had a lovely stay. Accommodations are simple and clean. It is an older hotel and new owners are in process of restoration. Great value given its location right next to the market, canal walk and restaurants. Bus stop very close, too. Breakfast was good. The staff is very nice and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

A welcoming and friendly place to stay.
We were visiting our daughter for who lives in Narbonne for 1 night. When we arrived, the manager, Vincent, was very helpful in checking us in and showing us our room. He even helped carry our luggage in from the car and up the stairs to the room. (And back to the car, when we checked out.) Even though we said it was unnecessary, it was very much appreciated. I had trouble using the internet, and Vincent helped me solve the problem. If you want an authentic French experience in a small family owned hotel, this is the place.

I was in room 8 first floor and it was terrible with holes in walls, big cracks in the ceiling and wall paper falling apart. I felt I brought my 2 kids to a abandoned hotel or something like that. It could be only my room but still this place should not be on the orbitz listing. I am pretty upset with orbitz for suggesting me this place.

Great location
The manager, Vincent was very helpful and made us feel welcome. It is not a luxury hotel but is very clean, and everything worked. It is in a great location, just a few minutes walk from the canal with plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking is a little tricky, but not too bad for a city centre location. I would be happy to stay here again,

Great location hotel with friendly staff
The location of the hotel was fabulous which was right near the market, canal and city centre. The room was basic but large and very clean. The WiFi was decent for working remotely and Claire at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! The only fault would be that since I was in the room on the ground floor near the front door, I could hear the doors banging constantly in the evening and footsteps from the staircase. This place is perfect to explore Narbonne and I'd definitely recommend!

Very central to the main historic part of Narbonne. We asked for car parking and the owner arranged for us to have free access to the underground car park close to the hotel. Room basic but adequate for a short stay and it had air conditioning. We didn't try the breakfast offered.

The hotel is very well situated in a quiet street but near the river and Les Halles market. The receptionist, who was also responsible for topping up the breakfast buffet, was exceptionally friendly and went out of her way to assist us and even made hot chocolate for breakfast for our 10 year old daughter. The hotel is in a lovely old building and it felt very authentic (a pleasant change from the standard larger hotel chains) and the room was lovely and restful. There were nice touches like a fridge stocked with cold water while the roller shutters provided excellent protection from both light and sound. Unfortunately (which we didn't realise until the morning) there was a plastic undersheet on the bed and this made it far too hot meaning that both my husband and I woke a number of times during the night and got far less sleep than we would have liked. Overall, the hotel was well-located, friendly, great value for money, and a lovely experience - we would definitely return but would remove the undersheet before going to bed next time!

Very friendly staff. The lady on reception was wonderful and extremely helpful. Room quite dated, and quite dark, but part of the charm of a rustic French hotel. Very comfortable, huge bed with very clean cotton bedding. Location was excellent as very near to tourist sights, and plenty of bars and restaurants. Self-serve coffee and tea facilities 24/7, but bring your own milk as the French like their coffee strong and black. Oh, if you're thinking of going to Perpignon, don't bother. Stay in Narbonne. It is much, much nicer.

Delightful stay -Vincent made our stay memorable
Vincent and Claire were amazing hosts. We felt very welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very close to the Market and we found it close to where we dropped off our Canal LeBoat vessel. The breakfasts were fantastic with delightful pastries, jams, homemade yogurt, juices, toasts, etc. We highly recommend this lovely small hotel.

Fist impressions, the hotel felt in need of a little updating- but everything was fine and did what it was supposed to. Vincent the concierge was fantastic, I received a text that morning on checking in procedures with the door code incase reception was closed, we happened to arrive when he was just starting and after a few minutes of talking we came away with plenty of restaurants and visit recommendations, plus a guide of what we need to know for the hotel. Location was great, parked the car for free 100 meters away. The hotel is about 3 mins from the Halles (covered food market) and a few minutes from everything else. Id happily stay again. Thanks

Great location. Walking distance from train station. Situated next to Les Halles bustling market. Vincent, hotel manager was very friendly & informative. Recommended lunch in the market which was excellent. Also had great dinner recommendations. Unable to get into one restaurant Sat night when he thought we wouldn't need reservations. We found a good one on our own!

Good location but shabby and not good value.
Location of hotel is very good. The information provided for accessing the hotel was also good. The exterior appearance is very poor. The interior is better but very tired. The staff member was helpful. It wasn't clear that breakfast was extra and this was very expensive for what you got. The coffee machine was broken. All in all it was ok but I would have rather been somewhere else.

Hello, I am really sorry that you were not able to appreciate the Hôtel De France in its just value. It is a small hotel accommodated in an old bourgeois house of the end of the XIXth century, close to the market hall (100m) which is the main place of life into the city. If the interior design and the outside look of the hotel did not fill you, know that renovation works are going to begin this winter, which are going to spread out over a whole year to end by of importing works at the beginning of 2019. This to give a new youth to this appreciated hotel in Narbonne. The breakfast is not included into the price of the room, this precision will have been given to you during your reservation. This breakfast consists of selected local products.Its price is 8€ what makes it one of the cheapest breakfasts of the hotels of Narbonne!! During your coming, the coffee machine broke down, the machine was replaced in the afternoon. We are sincerely sorry that you were not able to have of coffee, but the price of your breakfast in summer to modify to take into account this unfortunate situation. Finally, i can tell you that we do our best to our customers feel " as at the house " but I can understand that our "house" does not correspond to all people. I wish you a pleasant day and thank you for your contribution.

Perfect location in a picturesque city
We were fortunate in being able to park right outside the hotel which is close to the canal with good bars and restaurants. The hotel is a little old fashioned but with character and an excellent breakfast is served in the small lounge. The proprietor could not have been more helpful with advice on seeing the city.

The quality of the hotel did not meet my expectations based on the reviews I read prior to booking, so I feel obligated to share that fact, but I will try to be entirely fair. The location is nice in that it is convenient to dining and sightseeing, but it is on a quiet side street. The room was very basic and the bedspreads could use replacing. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and we were able to control the temperature to keep the room comfortable on a hot summer day. We had reserved two rooms for our family of 3, but we found one of them was under construction and very oddly configured (though huge). We declined to take that one and squeezed our family into one room as our stay was only 1 night. Staff were very pleasant. We didn't realize how beastly traffic would be between Marseilles and Narbonne, so we got to Narbonne later than we expected and had to wait till 5 to check in due to the strange reception hours.

Superb location in Narbonne, the hotel is in need of redecorating but this appears to be underway but plenty of space for a city centre hotel. Vincent makes all the whole experience looking after his guests with advice on where to eat, how to get about. We only stayed one night and need to get back to explore Narbonne and try more of Vincent's restaurant recommendations!

Very pleasant, clean, well done rooms, small hotel close to Les Halles, bus P1 to Gruissan beach and near good restaurants About 20-25 min walk to train station. The owner Vncent is very warm and accomadating The external facade and street is pretty deceiving, once you enter the hotel it is a different, like you are entering a house. You will enjoy your stay here
