Shopping malls and food choices though the malls close early at 8pm. Overall clean but very basic and amenities are very basic too. The interior design of the room is not as clean or comfortable as JR Kyushu Kagoshima. The parking was very complicated and quite a downer especially after driving long distance from another prefecture. Also, it’s very very exp, 2300 yen after tax. Overall, I feel this is not worth the stay if you are driving. Conveniently located as part of JR Nagasaki train station, this is a great hotel to stay if you value ease of getting around. The tram stop is only a short walk away and you can walk to Nagasaki Port and even to the central Chinatown area in under 30 minutes. There is also a decent mall attached to the hotel/station with good variety and plenty of dining options. I had to catch a train from Nagasaki up to Fukuoka which was easy to do after checking out of the JR Kyushu Hotel and walking the short few hundred metres to the entrance of the train station. Like normal Japanese hotel rooms, room is basic but very usable with the standard modular bathroom. The hotel is ideally located right next to the brand-new Nagasaki Station, which is not only beautiful and modern but also connected to a stylish shopping mall with a rooftop Starbucks—a great spot to unwind or take in city views. Getting from the airport was easy: the airport limousine bus drops you off right at the station, just steps from the hotel entrance. The hotel itself is efficient and welcoming, with glass elevators adding a sleek architectural touch. One of my favorite parts was the bar and restaurant next door in the Marriott, which was perfect for a relaxed drink or dinner without having to venture far. Starting my journey in a smaller, calmer city like Nagasaki was a great choice—it helped me ease into the pace of Japan without feeling overwhelmed. The JR Pass was easy to pick up here, too—the ticket office is smaller and quieter compared to the large and often crowded stations in Tokyo or Osaka. Overall, a delightful and stress-free start to my trip. The breakfast is subcontracted out to a restaurant in the adjacent to the building. Food was sub-par. The staff was not as welcoming as the one in Kita-Kyushu JR hotel.
