I only stayed at Vogar Travel Service for a night, but had a great experience. It was easy to find and no need to check-in with anybody. They emailed me the door codes. The shared bathrooms were clean. There is a full kitchen to use. I would like to try camping here next time.
There are not a lot of food options in the evening.
Room was good, the top bunk bed had some of the bottom slats shift and our friend sank down so that had to be re-arranged. Great kitchen/dining space with lots of room for everyone. Washroom facilities were also good.
Try the pizza place on the property and use the accomodation discount.
Facility is very clean, and location is excellent. Check-in is self check-in and code was delivered ahead of arriving.
Everything seems good for the hostel. Room charge is bit higher than hostel, more close to hotel. I would give it 3.5*.
We stayed here for one night whilst exploring the sights around Myvatn. Electronic check in / out was easy and contactless. I received instructions well in advance. The kitchen was large, well stocked, and the fridge had a well organised system for keeping your food/drinks to yourself. The showers were clean and modern, and plenty so did not struggle to wait for one. Room had a sink inside which was useful. We were happy with the beds / bedding / towels etc. No major complaints. Bear in mind Vogar is a very short (minutes) drive from the main 'town' / supermarket in Reykjahlíð which shuts at 7pm on weekdays. There is a local pizzeria with reasonable prices but we didn't get a chance to try them out.
Property a little difficult to find, but once phone number located on wall was enable to communicate with staff to gain access..apart from that a lovely stay.
Water was not potable to drink, smelled like sulfur, including the whole place as you enter, couldn’t make dinner, no restaurant nearby, there was a campsite place to eat, but as people were coughing didn’t want to risk it
The place's so cozy and with a nice design touch. It's simply lovely to wake up and start off your day with a coffee and that amazing view from those massive windows. If we want to be extra picky, the only minus point from us goes to the shower cause the structure is not that great.
very good location, bed clean, reasonable price and free parking

Subpar experience
Not enough bathrooms for the amount of people in the compound. On top of being always in use, the bathrooms were dirty. This place caters to campers and camper vans, so parking was difficult due to all the camper vans parked in front of the building. I stayed two nights and I asked for fresh towels after the first night and while the cleaning person eventually complied, he first told me he wasn't supposed to give me fresh ones. The room was not cleaned / trash picked up during my stay. The price was ok for Myvatn, but I don't feel it was a good value.
It felt more like a hostel with a private room. It was a little loud and you can hear the doors slamming shut. It was a little over priced for what it is.
Nous avons adoré l’emplacement, la propreté des lieux, les espaces communs sont très spacieux et le personnel est serviable. Il manque d’endroit pour accrocher les vêtements et faire sécher les serviettes (proposition : mettre des crochets dans les chambres).
Excelente choice to explore Myvatn region. We had the room with shared bathroom and kitchen access whithin the same building. Very useful set up for Iceland's cold weather.
Logement très bien situé mais chambre très petite pour 3 personnees uniquement.
