4.3/5 Excellent! (3 reviews)
"The place was clean. Kitchen in the hostel had the necessary tools. I like the showers near the reception. My only issue is washroom was not in the hut so I had to bundle up just to go to the washroom."
"We really enjoyed our stay overall, but we were very disappointed to find that there is a next door cabin and that you are in the middle of a campsite. We had people running around all sides of the cabin and very little privacy if any blinds were open. Overall, the amenities shown in the pictures ..."

"One of the nicest places we have stayed in. The host had fresh baked bread and cake for us. No hot springs.
"The lure of a hot springs on the property to soak in was the main reason we chose this place over other locations. There is NO HOT SPRINGS. Laundry facilities also advertised. They will do your laundry for you, but you cannot do it yourself. It will cost 2000 ISK. No complaints about anything else. ..."

"The room was a very cute mountain cabin style.
The bed was very comfortable, shower was nice, room was clean, breakfast was so delicious.
The restaurant was amazing. Everything was tasty, view was stunning . And fun to see the farm cows too.
The only small problem we had was to find our room. The front lady explained to us, but still took little while to find our room. If there are some signage in front of the building and on the street, it would be helpful. But we figured out.
Would like to come back again! "

"Enjoyed my stay here. Easy check in. Room was basic but fine with sink. Bed was comfortable. Showers and toilets always available and clean. Despite moving the bed away from the window to avoid the radiator handle, I moved in the night and still hit it."
"What a beautiful hotel! The landscape around it is stunning and id definitely recommend a lake view room. There's a free sauna all the guests can use. Breakfast and dinner were both fantastic. The room was very comfy and all facilities used need were provided! "
"We had booked the Sel Hotel Myvatn as part of our 10 day Iceland Ring Road trip. The location is an excellent base from which to explore the amazing area. All the places we wanted to see were easily within reach.
On our second day there, an early blizzard moved in and stopped all travel. (Iceland is great about providing detailed road conditions). Our party of four was happy to be at Sel Hotel Myvatn, especially if our trip was to be interrupted. All parts of the experience were very comfortable, the beds, the spacious bathroom with heated floor and towel rack, large lobby with a number of seating nooks. Also entertaining were a pool table, a foosball table, and of course, a great bar and restaurant.
What I really liked was the patience and care shown by the hotel staff. The hotel is family owned, and so the owners were there to answer all the guests questions about weather and road conditions. local attractions and so forth. I appreciated that the owner at the front desk asked each departing guest which way they were going, so as to provide updated travel conditions to the guest.
